So as I hurtle towards level 90 I'm wondering how to get from 90 to 91 in the most painless way possible.
I know that flying in Pandaria is unlocked at 90, but also know that the excitement of getting flying in Pandaria has lead to at least one recent high level death.
If I should fly high above Pandaria, the way I did above Cata, Northrend and Outland zones when collecting exploration XP, will I still be safe? Or are there some unusually nasty surprises even high up in the air?

there is at least one place where I lost my mount, in the Pits in Sra’Vess in Townloog Steppes (it's on one of the islande to the west). You can see a few notesI made on this thread Leveling after 90Going into Draenor at 93 like I did is not easy, I suggest waiting at least 95

Or are there some unusually nasty surprises even high up in the air? * xayaqc noted the pits in Sra'Vess; those have anti-flying-mount bug swarms. Shado Pan dailies should be scouted in general. My fastest unexpected sudden death on a scout was in a Shado Pan daily. * There's something going on with the Krasarang Wild Operation: Shieldwall/Dominance Offensive daily zones. I had an Alliance non-iron 90 get nuked from orbit in one of the Horde-themed questing areas. I'm not sure exactly what triggered that one. I kept away from the Horde fortresses but did do other Shieldwall dailies. * The birds flying around Halfhill are hostile and, according to forum complaints, can dismount you. * If you play both factions, it's really important to not have a brain fart in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms and fly to the other faction's shrine. The welcoming party has nets and sharp, pointy things. Never did have issues with the Klaxxi flying around the wall, but I didn't exactly fly into the middle of the swarms either.

Thank you all for your input. I took a look around on my main and decided this would be safe, providing I keep as high as I can at all times.
Those Krasarang Wild dailies don't seem to open at all until you've done some sort of pre-quest. The areas that the strongholds should be are mostly empty for my main, who never did those dailies. I think I might never unlock them if that's the case, since I suspect they're related to Tanee's recent high level death as well.
My Iron is 2% into level 90 at the moment. I'll complete this and report back with how much XP I made / whether or not I'm still alive.

27%. That means exploring Pandaria can give you a quarter of the XP needed to get to 91. Not bad.

There are several risky areas for flight in Pandaria:
- Sra'vess Pits (automatically dismounted when flying above them) - if you want to do dailies on the island go on foot - Border between Vale of Eternal Blossoms and Kun-Lai Summit (sometime can bug and dismount you) - suggest flying low when crossing that area or use flight masters - if Karasarang Dailies are unlocked stay well away from the main enemy base. Horde cannons can shred you in 5 seconds flat in the air or on land. - Zan'vess island (SW Dread Wastes) has same deadly exploding pods that can can be triggered by proximity if you fly too low

I think they fixed the phasing and dismounting issue on that border area?
I haven't been dismounted there for a few months now. Has anyone been dismounted there more recently?

- Sra'vess Pits (automatically dismounted when flying above them) - if you want to do dailies on the island go on foot If you fly high enough you won't be dismounted. I still flew around rather than over though. - Border between Vale of Eternal Blossoms and Kun-Lai Summit (sometime can bug and dismount you) - suggest flying low when crossing that area or use flight masters Forgot to mention this - I'm not sure if they ever fixed this issue but I flew low here just in case. As a Horde it's really easy to fly low from the Horde base to Kun-Lau Summit. You're literally just hopping over the mountain. Alliance might have to be a little more careful.
