This Ironman project was inspired by a couple of blogs here on the WoW challenge forums.
The first was an idea by Discordiankitty who decided to lvl a scout and main at the same time quest hub by quest hub. Thank you Discordiankitty:)
The second idea was from Madnessomind who was lvling 12 scouts all at once. I fell in love with the idea of having 12 of the same thing running at the same time. Thank you to you both for your ideas and blogs, and to all the other blogs for that matter:)
So my plan, 12 Gnome hunters. I’ll initially get them all started off and then focus on 4. The rest will be lvld as and when I feel like a change and they have rested experience.
This blog is starting life as a notepad on my laptop for the first couple of days until I felt that this would be more than a passing whim!
If you're reading this then I guess I must be having fun with it however, it also means there will be a rash of initial posts as I’ve been going a little while, sorry about that!
How it'll work...
6 lassie Gnomes predominantly running Kalimdor sporting a variety of hairstyles and colours.
6 laddy Gnomes mostly running Eastern Kindoms with equally assorted hairstyles and colours.
In the beginning they will all be doing Elwynn as it’s a zone I love, after that I’ll move 2 to Kalimdor while I continue 2 in EK, at least that’s the plan! As they meet their untimely ends I’ll keep one of each group as a scout and then replace the rest. I’m hoping this will help combat the despair accompanying the loss of an Ironman…fingers crossed!

The story so far...
22/8/2016
Onefrog's Diary
I made it through glitchyville Chillbreeze Valley. The local infestations by Demons appear to have had a rather strange effect on the valley's trog poplutaion. They seem to have developed the skill of magically disappearing and then reappearing in a different place. From my observations this seems to coincide with the loud booming voice of the legion commanders. This is most troubling to me and has caused several nasty unexpected encounters with unfriendly locals.
I did all that was requested of me by the area S.A.F.E. commander. A nice chap but his high pitched voice wasn't the most inspiring. After finishing my day’s duties I took a quick run to Ironforge, tram to SW, and then a mad dash to the safety of The Lions Pride inn at Goldshire.
(I found that as long as I ran from Chillbreeze Valley to IF during stage 1 or 2 of the invasion they aren't any mobs about, not even the wolves and I could get to IF before the phase finished and the xp was given out.)
Twofrog's Diary
After what felt like an endless assortment of menial tasks assigned to all new recruits, I was finally given a task worthy of my truly awesome hunter skills.
I was tasked to assist the High Tinker himself in his quest to defeat that vermin Razlo Crushcog. Unfortunately Onefrog's earlier report of magical, demonic antics appeared to cause problems for High Tinker Mekkatorque. Twice we attempted to engage the usurper Crushcog and twice he employed his demonic magics causing the High Tinker to retreat to his command post at Iceflow lake. At that point the High Tinker retired for the day to consider his options and ordered me to report to Goldshire as my Gnomish expertise has been requested by the local constabulary.
I made my way out of Chillbreeze Valley into Dun Morogh proper. I'd been informed of demonic activity in the vicinity but all seemed clear and so I continued.
From out of nowhere a demonic spire suddenly spat beneath my feat, all at once I found myself and my trusty mechabunny Dory, flung high into the air. I scrabbled for the pull on my parachute cloak when with a sickening feeling at the pit of my stomach I remembered I'd left it to dry the night before, and had forgotten to put it back on this morning. No wonder I'd been so cold all day! I landed with a terrible splat in the snow and at that moment I knew I would never be the hunter I once was.
After reporting to Goldshire with no further incident, Marshal Dughan looked at me with sadness in his eyes and advised me that the demonic 'shot to the knee' I had taken, prevented me from taking the original post he had planned for me, but that there was a position of 'Scout' available. I end my day’s entry as I join my sister for a drink or two at the Lion's Pride and make my plans to become the greatest scout Azeroth has ever known. You can never get a good gnome down for long!
(Note to self, always check the invasion isn't about to go into stage 3 when legging it through Dun Morogh!)

Threefrog's Diary
Dispatched to train in the human lands. Apparently the demons are becoming more prolific in the area and all new trainees are being sent to somewhere safer. Completed bootcamp in Northshire, hardly anything to write home about for a Gnome like me. Have been deployed to Goldshire. Looking forward to catching up with my froggy siblings.
Fourfrog's Diary with added input by Fivefrog
Dispatched almost immediately to Northshire bootcamp to commence training. It's certainly nice and warm here, I haven't needed my thermal socks once since I arrived. Helped to clear out the immediate grounds surrounding the Abby. Those human's can certainly do pretty things with brick.
The nights are a bit nerve wracking with the odd stray wolf sniffing about but we're clearing them out bit by bit. I did have some excitement on patrol when my team came across a very unpleasant kobold who apparently goes by the name of Gug Fatcandle. It seems he doesn't usually come out of his caves but I guess he was hungry or something. We chased him off back to his little dark hole and even managed to divest him of his bag. The team leader gave the bag to me as a reward for my bravery and prowess during the hunt. However I have to express my disappointment of there not being one single candle, fat or otherwise in that bag. Fatcandle indeed, what rubbish!
I did however find a mouldy, half eaten cheese and onion sandwich lurking in the front pocket. It had obviously been there for some time and I didn't actually realise it was in there right away. I thought the smell was coming from my socks! It'll take me weeks to get the pong out of my hearthstone:/
Fivefrog has also joined us in bootcamp. After discussing the Northshire situation with her we decided to have a quiet chat with Marshal McBride over our deep concerns regarding the influx of Goblin Assassins. It seems no matter how many me or my fellow frogs dispatch, they seem to reappear in ever increasing numbers. It’s my belief that the evil, candleless Kobold with the empty bags is opening the gate and letting them in through the caves. I'm not convinced Marshal McBride took my concerns seriously. Perhaps I need to go higher and have a chat to the officer in charge at Goldshire.

Sixfrog's Diary
Both I and Sevenfrog have been assisting the S.A.F.E team to evacuate the last of the Gnomeregan survivors. Its ugly, sad work. Seeing my gnome brethren all crazed and diseased like that. The only silver light is that there are many Gnomes alive today because of valuable froggy assistance in helping them get to safety. Carvo Blastbolt, one of the S.A.F.E. commanders, trained me in the use of a magnificent contraption called a 'teleport beacon'. We were able to use it on a number of trapped and frightened Gnomes, and whisk them away from the fumes permeating the train depot. It's a day I shall not forget in a hurry.
I wonder if there are any recruit positions available with S.A.F.E. They have the most attractive uniforms and so many gadgets and whizbobs at their disposal. I really would look good in that uniform! I've inquired with Hunter Master Muffinus Chromebrew about the possibility of me joining the S.A.F.E. ranks. It seems hunters are not permitted. Something about not having pet 'facilities'. I did explain that Norman (my trusty Mechabunny) didn't need any facilities due to his mechanical nature. I felt rather proud of myself until the Hunter Master pointedly looked at Speedy the turtle quietly lurking behind me. Sigh...no pretty blue and white uniform for me. I quickly cleared up the small pile of turtle poop and have now made my way to bootcamp with my brother Sevenfrog to await further orders.
The Diary of Eightfrog the Love Fool
After completing my morning cleansing ritual and moustache grooming I have reported for duty and have been assigned with siblings in Elwynn Forest. On the way through New Tinkertown I had the pleasure of meeting a rather lovely, although unusual young lady going by the name of Xi, Friend to the small. It seems she is a 'Pandaran' and has come to New Tinkertown to teach any interested Gnomes in the 'way of the monk', whatever that is! I confess I had stopped listening to her after the initial introduction as I got lost in her wonderful large hazel eyes. I imagine all that fur would be rather pleasant to cuddle up to on a cold snowy night...sigh...
All too soon I had to say farewell to this exotic, satin clad temptress and continue my journey to Northshire Abby. The Demons were once again rampaging across Dun Morogh so my initial plan of a lunch stop and a beverage in Kharanos was scuppered and I was forced to continue my chilly journey onwards to Ironforge with nothing but a packed lunch from Mother and the warm memory of black and white fur. I made it safely to the stony halls of Ironforge and immediately asked directions to the closest tavern. Unfortunately the Dwarf I approached for directions turned out to be the Stormpike recruitment officer, and it took some time to get him to stop talking about the wonders of being a Stormpike guard and actually get him to tell me where the darn pub was. By the time I finally made it to the Stonefire Tavern, I was concerned about the effects of dehydration upon my fair complexion and perfect moustache and goatee. My fears were soon put to rest with the help of several flagons of Dwarven mead and the pleasant company of a strapping young barmaid called Gwenna Firebrew. I decided to stay the night before continuing on to Northshire.
After a teary farewell with Gwenna the following morning, I finally arrived at Northshire and the less congenial company of numerous plate clad infantrymen.
Finally boot camp is over and I can begin more interesting duties. It’s not that Stormwind Guards are boring, it's just that they all seemed a little obsessed with Orcs, and they were all clean shaven. I'm glad I'm not joining their ranks as removing my magnificent facial hair would be truly criminal. Not to mention far too many guards are men!
I did make the acquaintance of a rather lovely Army registrar though. She was stationed outside the Abby and joined us for a game of cards on many an evening. I don't actually recall her name, probably because I was usually already drunk by the time she got off duty and joined us! She too however seemed to spend a lot of time discussing Orcs, I think perhaps it’s a human thing, I'd inquire further on the matter but honestly...who cares!!

Twelvefrog's Diary
I woke a little late this morning. I'm not really a morning sort of Gnome. My brothers Nine, Ten and Elevenfrog had already left for human lands. They had at least left me some bacon and sausage for my breakfast which is quite unusual as Ten has quite the appetite, and its usually a struggle getting much of anything once he's been at the table.
After meeting with Commander Nevin Twistwrench, I was duly dispatched to follow the footsteps of all my other froggy siblings and headed for Northshire.
Ironforge was magnificent. I've always been rather in awe of Dwarves and their truly stupendous capital city and would love to have stayed longer to explore. Sadly I was always already running behind schedule so after getting directions, I headed off to find the deeprun tram. Whilst waiting for the next tram I noticed a rather peculiar Gnome gentleman rummaging around in the rubbish bins. I assumed he'd lost something so being the helpful Gnome that I am I went over to offer some assistance. On closer inspection he wasn't the cleanest of fellows but to be honest after the smell of crazy leper gnome anything is an improvement. He seemed to be a bit deaf as I offered several times to help him find whatever it was he'd lost. He only continued to mutter angrily at himself as he continued delving into one bin after another. I gave him an offer of assistance one last time at which point he lobbed a dead rat at my face and stalked off, clearly he's the independent type!
The tram ride to Stormwind was a wonder, I would have happily ridden back and forth all day listening to the rumble of the tracks beneath me. I especially loved the part of the journey when we passed beneath what seemed to be a lake. I wish I knew where it was exactly. Sadly the ride came to its end as all things do and I arrived at the human city of Stormwind.
I had arrived sooner than expected and had some time to spare. I was planning on taking in some of the city sights but as I began to walk around I came across something quite disconcerting. There were these strange people dotted around. They all wore the same red robes and every time I got close to one, they would begin yelling tales of doom and destruction.
I felt quite uncomfortable about it and decided I would skip the sightseeing after all. I made my way hurriedly to the main city gates leading into Elwynn Forest, when a truly terrifying vision emerged.
There appeared to be the biggest demon I could ever imagine rampaging through the trade district. Everyone was running around in absolute terror. Suddenly there was flurry as several magnificently garbed heroes flew in and dispatched the monstrosity in no time at all. I breathed a huge sigh of relief and then got out of there as soon as my little froggy legs would carry me.
I was still shaken upon arrival in Northshire. Fortunately my training would not begin until the following morning so I joined my brothers and sisters for some much needed liquid fortification. I don't think I like Stormwind at all. In fact I'm starting to question if I'm cut out for a life of adventure and excitement.
/Sigh....maybe I'll feel better tomorrow.

Scout Twofrog’s Mission Report
Today my career as Scout extraordinaire has begun. Marshal Dughan has sent me to investigate one of the local mines. Some of the residents in Elwynn have reported sightings of Kobolds coming out of Fargodeep Mine. The mine is situated not that far from Goldshire itself and its also located smack in between two farms which is of greater concern.
After a thorough investigation I confirmed there were indeed kobolds living in the mine. After conversations with both farm owners however it seems the kobolds haven’t been wandering very far from the mine itself, and the actual mine is no longer in use. I have reported my findings to Marshal Dughan.
The Marshal didn’t seem too pleased with my findings and I have been dispatched to one of the other mines, Jasperlode which is located further into the forest.
Update – I have investigated Jasperlode mine as requested. As with Fargodeep it is also inhabited by a colony of kobolds. These kobolds had ranged a bit further out from the mine than with Fargodeep but they were not remotely close to any settlements. They seemed to be rather agitated and upset for no reason I could initially discern.
After further investigation into the mine itself the reason for their anxiety became clear. At the rear of the mine was a nest of the creepiest spiders I have ever seen. And when I say creepy I mean creepy because the darn critters were bigger than I was. What was even more unpleasant was that the spiders appear to like kobold for dinner. There were numerous kobolds attached to the walls and ceilings tightly wrapped in cocoons. I couldn’t in all conscious leave the situation without doing something as it was obvious the poor creatures were still alive and desperately trying to break free. I dispatched all the spiders with little mishap and left the kobolds outside to free their compatriots. I’m not sure Marshal Dughan will approve of me freeing kobolds, he probably would have preferred me to leave them for spider brunch but it seemed such a particularly cruel way to go and I wouldn’t wish it on a murloc.
I am spending the night enjoying the hospitality of some very friendly Gnomes in the Tower of Azora. They call themselves Servants of Azora although try as I might none of them seem willing to tell me exactly who or what Azora is. A mystery for another day.
Tomorrow I return to Goldshire to report my findings. I have a feeling it’s going to be a long night as the vision of desperate, wriggling kobolds and creepy spiders keeps springing to mind. Sadly Azora seems to prefer sobriety among its servants as there isn’t a drop of grog to be had anywhere.
Onefrog’s Diary
I have been temporarily assigned patrol in Elwynn Forest. As I’m not actually a member of Stormwind Guard my duties will be quite wide ranging. I’m to generally patrol the entirety of the forest, dispatch any problematic wildlife and render assistance where required to the forest populace. As a hunter by trade this is the perfect kind of duty and I’m very excited to be out in the wilds again.
The weather recently has been absolutely glorious and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed myself out on patrol, just me and Guppy taking on the world. I haven’t come across many problems, just the occasional hungry bear getting a little close to the farmsteads.
Some days ago I had quite a strange request for help from one of the local farm owners, ‘Bernice Stonefield’. It seems the son of the neighbouring farm has sticky fingers and Ms Stonefield’s favourite necklace had gone missing. She had tried to get the boy to cough up the necklace but explained he was a particularly unpleasant lad and perhaps someone in a more official capacity would have more luck. I agreed to try.
The boy, Billy, was indeed as unpleasant as Ms Stonefield described. Whilst I was sorely tempted to set Guppy on the spoilt brats backside, I changed my mind deciding grievous bodily harm probably wasn’t the best solution to dealing with irritating, snot dribbling children. I instead resorted to good old fashion bribery with the promise of food. With Bernice’s assistance we whipped him up his favourite pie and he was soon singing like a sunfire kaliri. Apparently he ‘found’ the necklace near the entrance to Fargodeep mine and it was appropriated by a rather large kobold. I do hope not all human children are this unpleasant. It didn’t take me long to convince the kobold what a good idea it would be to let me have custody of the necklace and it was soon returned to the hands of its rightful owner.
Afterword - not in official report: Ms Stonefield was very helpful with adding a little something special to the pie we gave Billy. That boy won’t be coming out of the dunny anytime soon!
Marshal Dughan has requested that I retrieve a report from a Guard Thomas, stationed by the bridge on the way to Eastvale logging camp. Guard Thomas was very anxious over two of his guards that hadn’t returned from patrol. There have been a lot of wolf and bear attacks in the region and Guard Thomas was concerned his guards had run into trouble. As he was not permitted to leave his guard station he asked if I would venture up river and see if I could discover their fate.
I’m sad to report that I have found the half eaten remains of the guards and have returned their Stormwind insignias to Guard Thomas. He must now perform the sad duty of informing the family’s concerned. A sorrowful day.
I have returned to Goldshire and spent the evening with my sister Twofrog and exchanged adventure stories. Her tales of kobold eating spiders sent a chill down my spine, it soon warmed up however with the assistance of a bottle of Dalaran Noir in front of the fireplace as the rain lashed down outside.
(Summary: Onefrog and Scout Twofrog are now lvl 12 and have completed Elwynn Forest in its entirety. Not possible to hand in breadcrumb quests in Westfall due to permanently rolling invasions. Doing the murlocs at eastvale at lvl 9 was a bit dicey, much easier at lvl 10 with the addition of ‘dire beast’ and the ability to send pet in first. From now on I shall make sure I’m lvl 10 before doing that quest, same for ‘The collector’ quest.)
Scout Twofrog’s Diary
Prophet Valen has made a request to High Tinker Mekkatorque for assistance. The Draenei on Azuremist Isle are struggling with their resettlement program. As such, many of the newly qualified Gnomish recruits out of Northshire have been reassigned. As both Onefrog and myself have already garnered some patrol experience we have both been sent with the first group. I believe some of my froggy siblings may follow once they have a little more patrol time under their utility belts.
I was dispatched initially to the isle of bloodmyst, it certainly lives up to it’s name. Everything seems to have an eery blood tinged hue.
On my journey to Kessel’s crossing where I was to rendezvous with one of the ‘Blade of Argus’, the local guard I passed some positively frightful creatures. There were a number of corpses of the creatures lying about, I’ve no idea what killed them. As I knelt down to examine one as I had never seen the like before, what appeared to be a baby one came dashing up to me and just stood there nodding it’s little head at me. I wasn’t sure what to do, or even what the creature was so I decided to just leave. The small abandoned thing followed me all the way to Kessel’s crossing.
I have asked the Elekk herder here, by the name of Vorkhan what the creature is. Apparently it’s called a ‘ravager’. They are native of the planet the Draenei came from, and were inadvertently released when the Exodar crashed. They seem to be procreating quite successfully.
I tried to convince Vorkhan to take the little mite off me but he adamantly refused, so I have resigned myself to raising the poor thing. They eat meat it seems so that part should be easy enough. I’ve no idea it it’s male or female so I’ll call him ‘he’ and I’ve named him Noddy due to his constantly bobbing head. I do hope he doesn’t have a taste for Gnome flesh!
Elekk Lord Kessel has advised that the patrol from bloodwatch is not due for another two days. As such he made a request that I deliver some some urgent reports for him on Azuremyst, regarding escalating blood elf activity. I explained that as I was completely unfamiliar with the island sending me anywhere ‘as a matter of urgency’ would probably involve me wandering around aimlessly trying to find my way! He assured me that the elekk beasts they use for transport knew the way and all I had to do was give the beast the correct command.
I was a little dubious as those things are huge, I mean, big as Kharanos brewery sort of huge. However, let it not be said that Scout Twofrog is a coward so I agreed. After giving Noddy a solid meal of mutton chop and with the aid of Vorkhan and a ladder, I was soon settled on what was to prove the most comfortable saddle I’ve ever had the pleasure of putting my little froggy butt upon.
With Noddy nestled up against me we were off. It was without a doubt the most exhilarating ride I’ve ever had. For such a big animal those things sure can move and I certainly didn’t have to worry about any errant wildlife nipping at my toes. It took us the whole day to deliver all of Kessel’s reports and all too soon we were back at the crossing.
I shall camp here until my escort to Bloodwatch arrives. Aonar, one of the herders makes the most wonderful sand pear pie!

Onefrog’s Diary
Twofrog and I departed for Teldrassil aboard The Bravery yesterday. I’d never been on a ship before, it had a strange motion to it that I found very soothing. The crossing was a gentle one and Captain Angelina Soluna and her crew were very hospitable.
Twofrog and I spent much of the crossing in the company of Engineer Brightbuckle, a fellow Gnome. I never did catch his first name and all the crew just seemed to call him halfpint. He regaled his with his many seaboard adventures. I’m not sure how many were true as I believe The Bravery is just a transport and cargo ship running between Teldrassil and Stormwind. Regardless the stories were interesting and the company pleasant!
On arrival at Azuremyst, my sister Twofrog was immediately dispatched to Bloodmyst Isle. I was asked to go to Azure Watch and assist with incoming evacuees from the crash site in Ammen Vale. I was more than happy to oblige.
Azuremyst is a lovely place and there seems to be this pervasive background hum everywhere. Exarch Menelaous explained that it emanated from the crashed Exodar and the various scattered Exodar crystals scattered about the island during the crash. It’s a very soothing sound although apparently the crystals are having an adverse reaction on the wildlife in the region.
I will remain in Azure Watch for a few more days to help out before moving onto Bloodmyst Isle, quite an ominous sounding place. I hope Twofrog is ok.
Scout Twofrog’s Diary
My escort finally arrived and after a meal break and refreshment began our journey to Bloodwatch. The Blade of Argus aren’t the most talkative of fellows but they are extremely poilite and considerate. After at initial attempts at engaging them with little success I contented myself with keeping an eye on the wildlife and memorizing the route and surrounding terrain. Noddy appears to be particularly happy and I do believe he’s grown a little already. My escort did not seem happy at all with my little nodding travel companion but I am already extremely attached and Noddy despite the freedom to run where and when he chooses seems to be just as attached to me.
On arrival In Bloodwatch I made my initial report and introduction to Harbinger Mikkolas and then was shown to my ‘pod’ which I’ll be calling home for the next however long. It’s comfortable enough with plenty of room for anymore arriving recruits.
Update - Mission Report
Harbinger Mikkolas has assigned me the task of locating a missing survey team that was sent to the ruins of Loreth’Aran. They were dispatched some days ago to collect information on the area. My mission is to locate the team, assess the situation and ensure return of the data crystal with or without the team. I feel that the Harbinger doesn’t hold out much hope of the survey teams continued survival.
I’ve located the team of Cartographer’s. Sadly Harbinger Mikkolas’ fears were proven correct and the team had clearly run afoul of a group of naga near the ruins. After searching the bloodied and scattered belongings of the survey team, I could not initially find the data crystal I was required to recover. I assumed the naga had taken the crystal when they left. With a sigh I knew I would need to search the naga camp and this was probably going to involve some altercations. I wasn’t wrong and I was forced to defend myself whilst prowling around the naga camp. I eventually found the the crystal and ran my little legs off out of their before the bodies I had left behind were discovered and the rest of the naga gave chase.
I returned to Bloodwatch with the crystal. The Harbinger was deeply saddened at the loss of his men. From what I’ve seen the Draenei are a people of few words and deep feelings.
Harbinger Mikkoals has asked me that due to my excellent ranging skills, would I be willing to collect further crystal samples for him. He is loathe to risk the lives of his untrained cartographers when there is so much hostile activity in the area. I of course accepted and advised I would depart immediately (well, as soon as Noddie had eaten his lunch. Ravagers sure do eat a lot!)
I managed to retrieve the next sample with little incident. It was located in a Blood Elf camp, they seem to be using the crystal for something I could not ascertain. I waited until nightfall and managed to get my sample without being seen.
I’m now on my way to obtain the final sample that the Harbinger requested, this one may not be so easy, I must keep my wits about me.
I have returned from my mission with the final crystal sample and a number of scrapes and bruises. The crystal was located at Axxarian, and area infested by Satyr, very unpleasant beings. I had to battle with a fair few of them to obtain the sample but the deed is done.
One note of interest, I spotted a number of small ravagers in the area. They seemed fine and healthy and I didn’t see any of the larger specimens as I did when I first found an abandoned Noddy. I wonder of the Satyr raise ravagers for anything. It will have to remain a mystery for now as I couldn’t exactly sit and have a friendly chat with them about nuances of raising baby noddylings!
I was gratified upon returning to Bloodwatch to see my sister Onefrog has completed her duties in Azure Watch and has joined me here. My little ‘pod’ will be a much more pleasant home with her pink haired presence!
(Summary: Scout Twofrog lvl 18, Onefrog lvl 13. No problems at all questing so far and no dodgy momets)

Onefrog’s Diary
I’ve completed my duties at Azurewatch and have now joined my sister at Bloodwatch. It’s good to see her safe and sound although Bloodmyst Isle sounds a rather hazardous place to be.
She has adopted a most peculiar little creature but I must confess Noddy is absolutely adorable and seems to have taken to me. He is clearly devoted to my sister and somehow I think the two are going to be inseparable. Although my Mechabunny Guppy is an awesome companion in a fight I confess I am a tad jealous of the affection my sister gets from Noddy.
One for the locals has asked me to collect some mushrooms for him on my patrols. I’ve happily agreed although in retrospect, I wish I’d looked at the set of instructions before so readily saying yes. When something is named an ‘Aquatic Stinkhorn’, you know you’re in for trouble! The smell was truly dreadful, worse than a week dead leper Gnome on a sunny day. Heaven knows how I’m going to get the smell out of my hair, the bathing facilities here aren’t exactly the best.
A Member of the Explorer’s League, Prospector Nachlan, grabbed me on the way out of town, he seems to have ‘lost’ his trainee prospector. A fellow Gnome by the name of Clopper Whizbang. I’ve found Clopper camped in a very fetching turtle shell on the beach among a colony of Murlocs. It seems Clopper and the Prospector Nachlan aren’t on the best of terms. I assisted Clopper in retrieveing his stolen equipment and to gather some rudimentary tools the Murlocs create. Clopper seemed particularly excited by the little handmade daggers, I couldn’t see the fascination myself but I’m sure Clopper knows what he’s on about, he is a member of the Explorer’s League after all!
Twofrog’s Mission Report
I’ve been sent all the way to The Exodar today with a translated missive from The Sunhawk Blood Elves. Harbinger Mikkolas is deeply concerned over the escalating danger the Blood Elves pose. I had to deliver the message directly to Prophet Velen himself. A great honour indeed.
The Draenei Revere Prophet Velen for his great wisdom and kindness tremendously and after my brief meeting with him I can understand why. He was so gracious and asked me personally if I would do some reconnaissance work for him. How could I possibly say no! I am to report to Vindicator Boros in Bloodwatch for further instructions.
After returning to Blood Watch I had my briefing with the Vindicator. Our first step is to locate one of the portal sites. Fortunately these sites often have residual void anomalies associated with them and reports are already coming in of sightings. I will investigate the first sighting located near a downed warp piston on the shoreline north of Blood Watch.
Further investigations brought up some very disturbing news. An Eredar, Sironas, was opening a portal at the Vector coil. This would allow untold numbers of Blood Elves to pour through. We had to stop it somehow. Demolitionist Legoso and I headed up there together, it was a tough fight but we were able to blow that vector coil to smithereens and take out Sironas. For now the Draenei are safe and can put their efforts back into restoring the island from the damage the irradiated crystals are doing.
The heroes welcome I received back in Blood Watch was beyond anything I could imagine. It brought tears to my eyes. Even Prophet Velen came to thank me, I almost burst into tears once again right then and there. He has seen a vision of me, a vision in Outland to bring his people home. I’m not sure if I’m excited or terrified, it seems a very big responsibility for such a little Gnome. Whatever comes my way I won’t shy away from it though. I swore to be the very best Scout I could be and I stand by that.
But first, a flagon of Dwarven mead and a nap, I’m exhausted!

On my way back out on patrol I was briefly waylaid by researcher Achelus. He’s asked me to deal with an unpleasant situation. He, and his research team whilst out in the field last week had been attacked by some very unpleasant, blood thirsty spiders, big ones. Clearly they have suffered the effects of crystal contamination. He had escaped but his team had not been so lucky. The Vindicators have their hands full at the moment with the Blood Elf situation and Achelus really doesn’t want anyone else to lose their life by running into these creatures unexpectedly. I’ve promised to see what could be done but honestly, I wish I was back picking stinky mushrooms. I still have nightmares after listening to Twofrog’s tales of giant spiders!
As I got close to the pass where the spiders had taken up residence a Draenei came running out from behind some trees. It turns out he was one of the lost research team, Researcher Cornelius. He explained that the research team had been wound in cocoons in preparation as food for the Queen spiders young when they hatch. /shudder. There was no doubt now about what must be done. Poor Cornelius had not been able to do anything as he had nothing but a small knife about his person but he’d been trying desperately to get close to his trapped companions for days. I told him to rest while I free’d his friends and that I would escort them all back home when I was done.
The spiders were truly disgusting. Creeping things with barbed legs. They moved slowly and stealthily until they saw you then flew at you with frightening speed, the researchers didn’t stand a chance. I have managed to free them and get everyone home but I fear they will take a long time to recover from the emotional trauma.
(Summary: Onefrog has now been added to the challenge boards and is lvl 20 – Scout Twofrog is lvl 22 and has completed Bloodmyst Isle in its entirety for the loremaster achievement. - Threefrog is lvl 9) I’d forgotten just how drawn out Bloodmyst Isle is and what crappy drop rates it has! I think from now on further Kalimdor frogs will be doing Darkshore! Looking forward to zones that only cover 5 lvls! Onefrog did not do all quests in Bloodmyst, couldn’t face it a second time! Going onwards I will probably just blog about one characters adventure per session. It’s slowing me down writing for more than one on any given day as I’m constantly checking my facts about the quest I’m referring back to and writing seems to take me a while. Both Onefrog and Twofrog are now moving to Ashenvale. )

Onefrog’s Diary
Upon entering the Night Elf lands of Ashenvale I was offered the hospitality of lodgings overnight just across the border. One of the Night Elves, an apprentice of Orendil named Evenar Stillwhisper has asked if I would be willing to collect a medicinal herb for him. It’s in an area not far from the dwelling but Evenar is not permitted to go as there is Horde activity in the area and Sentinel Shyela, who is protector to the apprentices is very particular over her duties. She’s quite intimidating; I don’t think I’d be willing to disobey one of her orders either! I’ve promised to do as Evenar asked as the herbs are for a sick child in Astranaar and as I’m already going that way so it makes sense.
Whilst scouting the area I had a terrible fright that nearly had me jumping out of my pink hair. A tree spoke to me! Not just any tree mind you but the ghost of a tree. And I thought Bloodmyst Isle was creepy! The tree turned out to be one of those Night Elf ancients I’ve heard about. I admit I was expecting a smaller sort of tree not one that was so tall the top was almost hidden in the clouds! Ghostie tree wanted a favour, I was hardly going to refuse a 100ft ghost looming over me so I stammered out my agreement. He wanted me to burn his body. It struck me as rather strange that a tree actually wanted to go up in flames but as I said I wasn’t about to argue so I duly went off and did exactly what ghostie asked of me. I even remembered to collect the herb while I was there which was quite impressive considering how frazzled my little mind was at that point!
Mr ghostie tree was very appreciative when I returned. After I’d got over my initially terror of a talking ghost tree he was actually quite a nice fellow. It seems now his body has returned to the ground he can sprout as new, less tall tree! I thought that was rather lovely.
I continued on to Maestra’s Post. Quite dangerous as Horde were attacking the post when I arrived. I spoke to Orendil and explained I had the herbs for the child. More preparation was required however before the herbs could be consumed so I did as requested and ‘bathed’ the herbs in the light of Elune. I’m sure there is something to all this but no idea what it is; I just do as I’m asked!
I’ve taken the medicine to Astranaar as requested. Unfortunately although the herbs have helped the child Relara is still ill. Her father Pelturas Whitemoon has had an idea. There is a special stone called ‘Elune’s Tear’. It has healing properties and so I’ve offered my services to retrieve it. I’m determined to do everything in my power to help this family.
The properties of ‘Elune’s Tear’ appear to have been affected by the corruption of the volcano in Ashenvale. All is not lost however as there may be a way to purify the tear by cleansing it in the moonwell at the base of the volcano. I hurry on my way to do so.
Something odd happened when I attempted to cleanse the tear. A voice echoed in my mind saying to achive my own ends I must help another achieve theirs. I’ve been directed to Raynewood Tower to assist someone named Avrus Illwhisper. Ashenvale has some very odd goings on! I assisted Avrus retrieve the moonstones he needed and now I’m back in Astranaar and am delighted to say Relara is well on the road to recovery. With so much fighting and destruction around us it’s truly wonderful to see something so life affirming.
Relara’s recovery wasn’t the only thing bringing tears to my eyes today.
My dearest sister Twofrog has asked me to adopt Noddy. Her scouting assignments are sending her farther and farther afield for longer periods and she’s concerned Noddy isn’t getting the attention he needs. My own patrols are much briefer and more suitable for having a little baby ravager tagging along. It’s like Winters Veil has come early for me. As I write this Noddy is snuggled up next to me in my room in the inn after a solid meal of fresh bear meat. There wasn’t anything special I could get from the cook here as Night Elves seem to favour a more fruit based diet from what I could see; but a trip out hunting together soon had us with all the meat a ravager could ask for. I am in little froggy heaven.
(Summary: Onefrog lvl 30 . The scalemail armour set was available from the vendor at Maestra’s Post. I have sold a few greens so was able to purchase it all. I’d kept my weapon updated from the bow vendor at Blood Watch – I was extremely cautious with the quest ‘A Squad of your own’ as I know it can go south quickly. I discovered sending my pet in first also triggers the 3 sentinels with you to start fighting and that if I hit guards by a catapult it doesn’t pull the catapult. It did the follow on quest ‘Respect For The Fallen’ which was utter stupidity on my part. I survived but never again, what gets into our heads sometimes!! – Ashenvale completed in its entirety for loremaster ach. Had no other problems. Have skipped Stonetalon and moved straight to Southern Barrens – Scout Twofrog lvl 30 - Threefrog lvl 12, Fourfrog lvl 11, both finished Elwynn Forest)

Onefrog’s Diary
My patrol’s have moved me into the Southern Barrens. It’s very…warm! I’m certainly feeling uncomfortable in my mail armour in all this heat and my hair is wilting somewhat! Noddy on the other hand seems to relish the heat and is particularly frisky!
I’ve come to Northwatch hold to assist with an Orc incursion. It’s a little disorganised and the troops here seem a little overwhelmed. Cannoneer Smythe and I had to improvise in creating some scatter shot for his cannons. I’m not sure the Admiral will be very happy when he realises his best silver-wear has been re-purposed but needs must and to be honest, the silver-wear wasn’t the most attractive I’ve ever seen!
Toliver Houndstooth, a rather scary looking Worgen Medic, has given me some positively stinky bandages for the wounded, we did the best we could to save as many soldiers as possible. Despite the stink the bandages seemed quite effective.
We made our way down to the shore clearing out any Orcs and helping the wounded. I then had very swift lessons on how to fire cannon. I must say I found it alarmingly enjoyable! Have I missed my calling!
Very soon we’d got things quietened down enough for the soldiers here to begin shoring up their defenses. I’ve been sent further inland, I hope the boys here get the breathing time they need. Heaven knows they need a break from the constant fighting.
On my way out from Northwatch, a fellow by the name of Jeffrey stopped me. He’d heard I was about to leave for Corporal Teegan’s camp site. He’s given me some excellent advice, along with a nice bottle of Dalaran Noir for the road! It seems there are a pair of grumpy Dwarves at Teegan’s camp site. Jeffrey kindly let me know that should I just happen to arrive with some fresh hides it would make an extremely favourable impression. Not to mention providing further supplies for the troops. How could I resist, if there’s one thing I know for sure it’s that it’s always good to have a Dwarf at your back!
On a side note I need some fresh grub for Noddy anyway, he eats like there’s no tomorrow and is really getting quite big. I’ve already begun hunting training with him and he seems exceptionally intelligent and very enthusiastic about chomping things! It won’t be long before he’s bringing me dinner!
I made it to Teegan’s camp and Jeffrey was as good as his word. Once I flourished the hides Goucho and Ol’ Durty Pete embraced me like a long lost sister. Admittedly I could have done without the hug from Pete as he was a little fragrant! No matter they promptly say me down and got me drunk as a skunk. From what I recall it was a good evening!
(Summary: Onefrog lvl 33 in Southern Barrens. Had a mail coif and shoulders drop. Not playing quite as much as legion keeps distracting me! Not having any issues playing at lvl)
