After coming back to the Challengers community a year or so ago, I heard of the Pacifist challenge. Sounded pretty interesting but very weird. Rolled one for the heck of it. Became hooked. Instantly. I absolutely love this challenge. However, I gave it up after losing two Pacifists to proximity kills. It was frustrating, angering and completely out of my hands. And I had no intention whatsoever of locking up my Pacifist in a town doing dailies and world events until she dies of boredom at 110. And so I stopped trying.
A little while ago when I learned that proximity kills were being addressed and that Pacifists were given new quotas, I picked up my Druid Xera and hit the roads. It was every bit as enjoyable as I remembered. There is something incredibly soothing about playing a Pacifist. It is such a change to just be hiking and riding around, and rediscovering the game from scratch. I love just chit-chatting with guildies as I ride all over the place gathering herbs and racking up exploration XP. It's nice to not be whacking on everything (No, really. It's nice.)
Druids are absolutely lovely for the Pacifist challenge. They are master stealthers, master escapists and master healers -turning you into a grand-master of "Throw on a HoT and dash out". And of course, Shadowmeld is the great-grand-master for dropping aggro. Plus -I adore shapeshfting forms, so there :-p
The Druid that I picked up did great. Absolutely great. Then I got cocky and picked up a retrieval quest inside a shack, expecting to get found out but, you know... "Throw on a HoT and dash out" Only I didn't notice my Dash was on cooldown and Xera died in the Plaguelands at 38. In the span of two weeks, I lost a 38 Pacifist and a 43 Ironman to closed spaces and dead-ends. I have new goals now.
I picked her up again and Xera is level 30. I'm pretty reckless as a Pacifist so I figured I'd keep myself accountable by logging my progress in here. I hope to get a lot of slaps on the wrist and bonks on the head for planning stoopid stuff (Pretty please).
Xera dinged 30 in Duskwood and is headed for the Wetlands. Wish her luck! =)
