Otherwise known as the "Anthropophobic Blood Thirsty Challenge"!
I've been looking for a reason to roll up a challenge Hunter.
The thing that's bugged me about them tho' is that they seem so bread-and-butter when it comes to challenge toons, and I was looking for a fun way to create a further challenge for the class.
So, I've come up with the Wild Man Challenge for my new Hunter "Wildergrit".
This is basically just an adaptation of the Blood Thirsty Challenge. All BT rules apply, with a couple of extra non-trackable tweaks:
Extra rule #1: You may not enter any towns.
All cities/towns/hubs are fully off limits. You are a mountain man. A rover, wanderer, nomad, vagabond (call me what you will... heh). NPC's scare you, and your only friend is the wilderness!
...this also means no First Aid, Hearthstones, or Inns for rested xp. Brutal!
Extra rule #2: You can only use what you find.
As part of the whole no town business, no banks, auction houses, and mailboxes. You must scrounge for your gear and live off of what the land provides. Remember to nab any coppers for possible mount training (see below).
Extra rule #3: No vending.
Again with the no town thing, vending is off limits (this includes using Grand Expedition Yaks etc..). Uncheck auto-loot (and check Open Loot Window at Mouse), and paw through each kill, taking only what is necessary for your survival.
Extra rule #4: No flight paths.
No towns/hubs also means no access to flight paths. Plan your leveling path accordingly. Mount training may have to be limited to non-city trainers in Amberstill Ranch and Eastvale Logging Camp. Still deciding on this.
Extra rule #5: Circumvent towns when traveling to new continents.
This one will require some testing. Basically limit stepping into towns to get to other areas. IE, sneaking around Stormwind to reach boats to other areas. MoP and Legion may get tricky.
Being able to equip greens as per BT rules will help with the survive-ability. Hunter'ing limits me to cloth/leather/mail, so plate classes may have an easier time with this.
Let me know what you guys think! I'll keep updating the thread and rules as I go.
