So, 2018 will see a number of changes for the Ironman challenge. Patch 7.3.5 will introduce scaling and XP squishes (translation, new bugs), plus the next expansion. Let's capture quests, bugs, mobs, and bosses that players should avoid, be careful, or test first on a scout. For reference, a 30-page older thread is still around, but because of size and age, it is harder to find relevant information for 2018 stuff. (Still worth a read for a head's up, go to end, work backwards.) Older thread "Mobs and quests to avoid or be careful of" Of course your mileage may vary, some classes might be able to do quests or not. (Ranged vs. melee as an example.) Good luck, sorry if you run into a game glitch or other bug, but please report it here. If you can remember stuff like quest name, boss name, location, that helps others. Thanks

Darkmoon Fair (DMF) - been getting player reports that the flying Firebird daily quest will occasionally DC you, and you will fall to your death. The cannon shot has introduced a new wrinkle - if you hit the rim of the target in the water, it is same as falling damage. Don't know if these are temporary bugs, but suggest not doing these two in DMF.... Also, we've seen an uptick in flying-related deaths. In general, when you catch a taxi from one place to another, have your hearth on cool-down (so you can quickly hearth if needed, I got dumped in WinterGrasp on a flight recently). Also, get yourself at least one Goblin Glider Kit - if you get dumped mid-air, save yourself if you don't have racial flight abilities or a Pally bubble at the last second.

In Loch Modan:
When fighting Gor'Kresh, he does an ability that looks like purple smoke. If your graphics card has issues with smoke or high particle rendering, this fight is really laggy. He also has a knockback ability. I don't think I'd have survived without Power Word: Shield and Flash Heal.
Also, when flying the Protostrider for the last quest in the zone, I aggro'd a kobold and a spider when I was about to land at the northern station. Guards didn't help with the mobs.

The Deepholm intro quest can still glitch out and disconnect, dropping you from a height. Be wary and make sure you have a goblin glider kit just in case.

Two for the lower level Arms Warriors;
Darkshore - Tower of Althalaxx (Quest) The Looting of Althalaxx - Getting in to the ground floor of this tower is quite easy, however, near the start of your ascent up the ramp you must first kill an undead looter. It is very easy to pull this looter, your target Teegan Holloway and a second looter.
Darkshore - Ruins of Auberdine (Quest) Three Hammers to Break - Tzu-Tzu will strike you a few times with a particularly nasty Storm Shock, even with an active Victory Rush on one attempt I lost. Skylord Braax summons a Searing Totem; I think I attacked him badly to be honest as I didn't react to the totem, with a Victory Rush I think this NPC could be doable.
I'm on Tin man now so kinda open testing, and making notes as I play. Tzu-Tzu got me twice; Braax once. If you really must complete this quest My feeling is wait until level 26 for both Pummel and an escape in Heroic Leap (perhaps higher for Die By the Sword). This area's Storm Elemental mobs also pack a punch, but are doable. Go prepared or my advice; avoid Auberdine.

the 2 mobs for Weapons of War had 3 times my hp each at lvl 19, and they both aggro so you are in for quite a fight if you don't have any crowd control, magic shield or Healing

I never realized DMF dailies give XP. Only the profession ones do, so for Pacifists it's okay overall. Irons can do the First Aid one. Unless they added XP to all quests in 7.3.5?

Darkshire: Stitches hits like a truck and the NPCs wont tank him. But you can do a little damage to him, abandon the quest and he'll disappear. Go get the quest again and he'll be back with the same health as before. Do this over and over if you want to complete it.

Love nifty tricks like this, although even getting to Stitches is a huge unnecessary risk for your challenger due to Dark Riders. Unless 7.3.5 changed that?

At one time, you could run away, drop his agro, heal up, and come back and continue the fight. I'm guessing we're back at this point again?

In Hyjal, Forgemaster Pyrendius is a lot harder. I could not activate the rune while he was standing on it since I only had the Attack cursor, not the cogwheel, so I had to activate the rune with me on it, and then lure the Forgematser over the rune in less than 2 seconds. The rune now only remove about 1/6 of the mobs hp, so you have to kite from one rune to another, while it is beaten hard on you. Killing it without using the runes doesn't seem to be an option now, it has way too many hp

the mob for Siren's song had more than 6x my hp at 84. Better to skip than die like I did at 84
