Carrying on....now level 50 so there seemed to be little choice but to head for Tiragarde Sound and areas again. SO I carefully followed the brook killing ordinary mobs. So here is a warning for BTs....Just south of Norwington Estate is an area with bruisers with pickaxes digging away - nothing special about them. So I followed my way round and killed them as I went. After about 20 or so I get the popup '5 Daily Quests completed'. Not killing anything else there....just ordinary mobs..bruisers and a few worm type beasts in the area. Ouch again.

I have carried on yellow flagged and got to L50. Seems little choice now - either risk the Shadowlands intro at L50 (with green gear) or try to get another couple of levels before going. So there seemed little choice but to head back to Boralus and the areas there...it seems Zandalar is unavailable to BTs as it is behind some quests. I decided to stick to just killing ordinary mobs along the river and hit turtles, birds etc. Just south of Norwington Estate (Tiragarde Sound) I came across a bunch of 'bruisers' with pickaxes...plus some worms. Went round the area and killed a bunch of them. Just as I killed a 'bruiser' I got the popup 'Bloodbru has completed five daily quests'. No idea if the bruisers are part of some quest, but there was nothing on the map to suggest they were anything other than normal mobs. Is it possible the game was just late sending the achievement popup to me and it was not the 'bruiser' that did it? I have no idea....but my log still shows five daily quests completed and it said that the other day when I was on L41. Most odd. 5 Daily quests…I know the Blingtron I clicked was one…could others be for taming Loquenahak/Arcturis/Gondria etc?

Got yellow flagged (5 dailies) also killing those mobs, and I didn't tame any rare beast. On my BT, in Tiragard I keep to birds and turtles along the creek going north near Haterford

Thanks...anyway - in Shadowlands now. I planned to perhaps kill mobs in BfA to level 52....but found the exp dropped off completely......300 per mob at L50 - only 30 per mob at 51. The maw quest line was easy enough to be honest. I had done it a few times on ironman characters with grey gear, so was a walk in the park really with green gear. Now to find best mobs to kill in Bastion. So far it seems Larions give the best exp -400-ish per mob....and there was an elite one that gave 2k. All near the starting area flight path. Do other areas of Shadowlands open up as you level? Never done it without questing before of course.

You can go to any zone once you use the scouting map for shadow lands. Personally I never go to Maldraxxus, so at 54-55 I go to Ardenweald, and Ravendreth around 57

Just to let you know how I am getting on.....
I was hacked off with my yellow flagged BT, so I started another to try to keep the world quest count down below 4. I am now 56 on that one and have 4 daily quests done it says in my stats...!!! How on earth do you know what mobs you can kill and what ones you can't?
One I know was a rare in Bastion...I killed it to see if rares in Bastion counted and it seems they do - or that one did....so no more. (That was actually the third - absolutely no idea what the first two were - both were in vanilla areas somewhere but no idea what they could be.
I just popped over to Rivendreth to see what the exp was like there for mobs. Not bad. Killed a bunch of beasts south of Darkhaven...no rares of course. Then wandered around and killed two thugs, a collector and some other winged guard. None were rare - just ordinary mobs as far as I could see...then saw I had another daily quest in my stats log. One more and the dreaded yellow flag will be on this one too. I realise I can complete with yellow flag, but it just isn't the same somehow - I feel I cheated. Bit of a perfectionist!

Phew! Made it to 60 on my BT Brublood without clocking up a fifth daily quest! (Had reached L52 on my previous BT, Bloodbru, but somehow managed to get 5 daily quests and a yellow flag)
Brublood - Night Elf Hunter, played 2d 14h 53m As soon as I started I ran to Teldrassil (forget the starting zone) got the FP and HS at inn and headed off to Starbreeze Village (everything scales so all are at L1) to try to catch the rare Uruson - he drops a useful six slot bag. Then head south following the ridge killing everything...especially owls - they drop small eggs - sell like hot cakes, 12g each! Should reach another rare - a cat, Duskstalker. Kill it at this stage - might drop a bag also...I tamed him as soon as I got the pet skills (Level 6 I think) and kept him as pet right up to L60.(I also tamed but did not use Loque, King Krush, Arcturis, Gondria and Terrorpene and I can vouch for the fact they do not count as daily quests (tamed - I did not kill any of them to check that). (Be careful taming Terrorpene - his channelled attack can drain a lot of HP...I used a shieldtronic shield as I hit tame and still lost about 70% health). Stay running back and forth along this ridge and Starbreeze Village (don't go too far south - watch out for groups of black mobs from a quest and head back at that point)and hopefully by the time you are L 10, you will have 50 or so small eggs and four extra six slot bags. You can now use the Darnassus portal to Stormwind. HS at Inn, auction the eggs and any unwanted other items that dropped - on my server 10g is a fast sale for small eggs - 12g will sell but takes a while. When you get the money you can gear up and get bigger bags if you so wish. I kept an eye on AH as often as possible and bought good green gear that was cheap often many levels ahead and banked them...the prices generally on green gear are silly atm so stock up on future needs when you can. Buy apprentice riding but MAKE SURE YOU ABANDON LEARN TO RIDE QUEST - if you complete it its a red flag. While in SW go and click Chromie time - it doesn't matter which expansion...it just means you can stay in Vanilla areas until L50 and they will still scale. I headed straightaway for Loch Modan (tram to Ironforge then run). Get the FP and then head west to the large puddle surrounded by crocs and birds. They spawn fast, so kill all and the small eggs will stack up fast. Green drops are scarce, but they can drop weapons that may be useful. There are 14 rares in Loch Modan, all give good exp and all can be accessed (with a bit of killing) by ground mount. They only drop six-slot bags up to L15, but after that they drop greens, some of which will be useful, the rest can be auctioned. The rares respawn roughly every hour and because you are phased by Chromie time, there are fewer folk about killing them also). At L30 when I could fly I also took in a trip round Uldum and Ungoro Crater once in a while. There are a number of chests can spawn here and they can contain very sellable items. I got an orb of deception from one and got 10k for it...very handy, as I said the price of green gear on AH is ridiculous. By L50 I found I had two daily quests in my stats log. No idea what they were....but possibly when I visited Uldum at 50 and did not realise it was in the post Cataclysm phase...could have been something there. See the little guy and go back to the normal phase (everything is now L35 so no killing here anymore). I was worried at going to Shadowlands Maw intro at this level, but it was easy really, just be a little careful and let Jaina etc do the hard work. Not far from the south FP in Bastion are loads of larions. The closest ones stay at L51 but there is also a high up group on a ledge that are 53 and include an elite that gives v good exp. A similar group is on a ledge just southish of Heros Rest. Here I killed one rare to see if they counted as daily quests. They do, so I was now up to three. At 55 I took Xaya's advice and used the Shadowlands scouting map toy to open all FPs. Although I noticed at 55 the Maldraxus arena FP had become available, so I assume one in each of the other areas would as well as you level. But I thought Ardenweald was a good option so went there. I ran a route south from the FP at Hibernal Hollow killing loads of deer, birds (all L58) and at the end of the route a bunch of gorms (they are L60 but not a problem to kill). A little later at L56 I popped over to Rivendreth to see if anything was giving better exp. Killed a bunch of beasts near Darkhaven, ran around a bit and killed a few humanoid mobs....nothing showing as a rare....and somehow managed to pick up a fourth daily quest stat. Ouch! Have to be careful now. So I went back to Aredenweald and ran that route of deer, birds and gorms all the way to 60.

Hi This is me ironbru yet again.... With the huge change in UI etc a couple of weeks ago, I fancied a new challenge and the just dinged Bloodthirsty Champion, Jem (night elf hunter), was it. After having done many iron men (two classes still to finish), a bloodthirsty and a pacifist, I thought I would try to do Bloodthirsty and Ironman on one char...I could only register for one, so registered Bloodthirsty. So I completed it with only grey and/or white gear. At later stages there was a bit of a bonus there because since last week there are 180 item level grey armour and 160 item level weapons. I managed to find all but the boots on the AH....a bit pricey sometimes, but reasonable. I noticed that you now allow talents. Well I wanted the challenge, so did not take any talents either. I can see on my already L60 Ironmen there would not be the choice because older L60 characters log in with the standard set of talents already picked. Jem levelled from 0 - 60 and I found it did not auto pick talents when I hit 60....so he is still talentless. With no talents on a BM hunter all you have is steady shot, arcane shot and kill command...everything else is now a talent... (I chose Beast Master because as usual I like to tame the classic spirit beasts (Loque, Gondria, Arcturus etc). Bonus there - you can tame them at L20! I did my usual run, mainly fighting in Loch Modan for the rares...they got a bit tough to kill with any degree of safety in the late 40s...but there are also the loch buzzards (small eggs drop and sell fairly well (down to 5g each on my server, but that still adds up). Around this point I also decided my pet was not up to the job (cat or spirit beast, I tried both) they kept dying so I opted for a core hound...rather nice rare one in Blasted Lands. He fared much better at handling damage spikes. Since the expansion last week another bonus is Chromie time goes all the way up to L60...so Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor scale right through.
Jem - Night Elf Hunter (Bloodthirsty +) - no talents - grey/white gear - time played 2 days 0 hours 34 minutes. Great fun with quite a few heart stopping moments!
