Use boar for the versatility buff 3% to damage and healing (mend pet), up until you can tame a gorilla in stranglethorn for blessing of the kongs which is 5% stats. 5% stam and agi being the relevant ones here The dog's buff, Bark of the Wild, Increases your raid member's Strength, Agility, and Intellect by 5%. www.wow-petopia.com/talents/skills.html#barkofthewild The gorilla's buff, Blessing of Kongs, also Increases your raid member's Strength, Agility, and Intellect by 5%. www.wow-petopia.com/talents/skills.html#blessingofkongs Can't find anything on Petopia about the gorilla having a stamina buff. And you can get a dog from about level 14 if you're Horde, (level 1 if you're a Worgen). Plus they're cuter. I stand corrected, your right. So i guess keep the dog if your worgen till 100, any other alliance race get boar till you can either get a dog or a gorilla. Horde get dog at 14. This is a case of one of them older players getting mixed up with old and new versions of spells being changed and reworded and over stas being introduced and taken away over the expansions.. Thankyou for clearing this up for me.

Wouldn't worry about a dog , turtle (50% damage reduction on pet) or Bear (+10 stam) would be more helpful as a iron, 5% of fark all agility is still 5% of fark all

So in conclusion to this discussion herrena is that everyone has their own preference and opinion, within the ironman, 5% of fak all is fak all, and 10 stam is useless when your running for your life being chased by 10 murlocs and running into 10 more or one shot by a level 100 npc or fall off your mount, a turtle is useless because 50% damage reduction is of little use when you can just resummon your pet on the fly if it dies, my personal favourite is the gorilla, as i personally like the 5% stat buff but different people different pets, theres even a 100 iron without a pet, go figure. Use your dog and enjoy your adventures. Take your break and come back stronger. :}

well I'd say try the pets in combat and keep whatever you feel is easier. I prefer bears and turtles myself, just because the fights seem easier with them

We all have valid reasons and points of view after all Xaya, Asy and myself all have level 100 iron hunters, and by the looks of it used different pets to get there, gorillas, boars, bears and turtles, like Xaya says try them all out see what fits your playstyle, heck try a cat or a wolf if you want, most importantly go with what your comfortable with, as we have gathered small numbers are small numbers in ironman it doesnt really matter, as we have seen you can get to 100 petless :}
