Welcome JCarrillo Welcome to Iron pally-land. Good luck! I haven't tried a 2H since MoP but I may try it. I'm cautious about giving up the armor though....will test it out and see how I feel. (No internet at the moment...at a friend's and just moved...will be back and ready to go soon -- hopefully!) Safety first people.

Since I just recently came back to the challenge, I was still using a sword and board on Kahlee. After a few mobs I decided it was taking entirely too long to down the mobs using those items. I have switched to a two hander and it seems to be going better ((knocks on wood)). Using Kings and Seal of Insight which seems to be keeping me up okay. There has been a couple of times that I have had two things on me and I actually seemed to be able to handle them (granted they were like level 62s and I was level 67 but they still had a lot more hp than I did). There's not many tips I can offer since the rotation has been stupidly toned down to 2 buttons (judgement and crusader strike) with a 1 button finisher and throw in a Word of Glory heal every now and then. I would suggest a two handed weapon as opposed to a shield and one hander because you don't want to waste too much time in bringing things down. Other than that, make sure you have the highest gear you can be in for your level and be careful in your pulls, cross your fingers and pray to the Light that all goes well.

I have felt the same way - safety in sword + shield versus the faster killing with a 2hander. I found an obvious solution. Have both, make two equipment sets with the only difference being the weaponry (ofc. as we have not many choices) and then put the icons on the bars, then you can change at will - even in the thick of battle, it is only armour that cannot be changed while in combat. It takes up an extra slot or two in my bags, but that's not normally a problem. I chop away to my heart's desire with my great sword, and if the enemy is too tough, or an unexpected add joins in, I click a button and voila me with 1hand sword and shield

I might have to steal it away from you. ;D

Just a quick update...I did switch to a 2H. I tested it out versus the lvl 70 surf and board....and the 2H is much nicer. Brings them down quicker and I noticed I'm not taking much more dmg as I was w/1H + shield (even with that extra armor). Up to personal decision though. ;-) Made it to lvl 71 tonight. Haven't gone to Blade's yet...hoping to do some more quests in Nagrand before I'm forced out. ;-)

A 2-hander may be a bit faster to kill than 1h/shield but it only takes one unexpected add to make you wish you had that extra armor and block while running for your life...

True...I may go back. We'll see. I do have the 1H/shield on my action bar to switch if needed; although, it'd probably be too late if it came to that. Thanks, Sarghir, for the comment. Since you have gone far ahead of me on several toons, I will listen and do. So now cross your fingers I get a 1H upgrade.

I know I switched to a 2H on Kahlee when I came back. The sword and board was taking too long to make the kill and things were respawning as I was killing my way in/out. I felt like the speed of the kill was more important now than the extra armor. Especially with my rotation being down to 2 buttons and then a third added as a finish. I'm just going to have to rely on my bubble and/or LoH if I get in a tight spot.

Just worked for awhile w/1H/shield...did about 10 quests in Blade's Edge. I was definitely taking less damage, but I did have a few issues with respawns....but that could have been others questing in the area and I didn't see them. I'll keep switching back and forth probably until I decide.

Since entering Northrend, I have been quite happy with my 1H/shield. I find I'm not killing much slower than with a 2H & a couple of times, I've had 2 adds on me and was thankful for the extra armor. (Of course, it's still a personal preference. ) Just adding (again) my 2 cents. (...and I'm so happy to be in Northrend!! ) Of course the above opinion may change if I get so lucky as to have the lvl 74 100+ dps 2H drop.....I think there's one. Haven't looked back over the weapon list yet.

Pally-rage!!!! So in cleaning out my bank, I accidentally sold my lvl 71 plate helm. >.< That's what I get for trying to be cute in my bunny ears while doing eggs and the flower dailies. Just needed to yell a minute. Already bought my lvl 45 helm. Sigh.

I thought about it...probably will. Although I think they'll probably be laughing as they do it. No matter.
