I put in a bug report thinking that was good enough. After a week, the quest is still bugged. I put in a ticket, ETA 3 days 12 hours. So not counting on Vash'jr for the time being.
In other news, I quested in Uldum today. Three quests gave me pause. The first is the one where you rescue the prisoner from the pit. I remember this one being bugged and wowhead claims it still is. Mystery death seems like a HUGE red flag. The second quest was the one where you go underwater in the lake and stop a ritual. The guy summons like 12 snakes and without effective AoE a ton of adds, however weak, seem risky. The third quest was the one where you go in to finish off 10 elite schnotts guys. I killed 3 of them but even with low health they hit hard and take a lot to kill. Also they have a ranged attack so I can't root and regen. And to make it even worse, the room is a giant pit and I am not sure I can get out if bad things happen. These three quests locked the zone down, so done there.
One big plus, I got my cata weapon! Dropped off a hyena while I was doing a quest to get hyena pelts! Yay for weapon!
So I was 14% out of my 15% goal and out of quests. I did not want to start Twilight yet, so I decided to take a stab at the panthers in the pandaria starting zone. Using very delicate tactics that I will not bother listing here unless requested, I can manage to kill 1 level 84 mob every 3 minutes or so for 11264 exp (Not sure about the last 2 digits). This is with full rested of course. I think I will focus on grinding these for the time being and see how fast it goes. If it seems slow, I may go try Twilight but it seems like that is trading a known risk for an unknown one in the name of speed.
Summary: Uldum done, pandaria possible, 41% done, 59% to go.

Okay, I know it is early in the weekend but I thought I would put in an update. Due to my computer instability early in the week, I decided to avoid combat for a few hours this morning. So I wandered around Jade forest getting explore experience and picking up gray things. I explored a bit of Kras and Valley as well, did the farming quests. All of them together gave me about 18% of a level. Then I found a goldmine! Spirit darters in Jade Forest have low HP for a level 85, are nonaggressive and rarely melee attack, and with my high level I resist some of their spells. They give me 14.2k exp each and take 2 minutes or less to kill, making them significantly easier than the level 84 panthers I was fighting in Jade Forest for 11.4k exp. There are a couple of downsides though. 1: They live very close to the warbringer and the warscout can even pass through some of them occasionally. 2: They are not all on the ground, reducing how many I can reach.\
Going to hang out with them for a bit while I decide if the quest to reach Kun Lai is safe.

Okay, new update. I know I am updating a lot but I feel like I have made so much progress today. So I went after another treasure of Pandaria and ended up discovering an even better mob to grind: River Striders. Pros: They are neutral, most of them are far from aggressive mobs, they only have 90k HP compared to the 122k of the spirit darters, and they give almost 18k exp each. Cons: They hit a little more steadily than the spirit darters (though not as hard as the 84 panthers I was grinding), they are a little spread out, they are in a river (fighting in water is harder and offers increased visibility to griefers). As of today I am 67% of the way to 90, more than my goal for today and tomorrow.

No more quests, no more exploration, no more tricks. The journey is nearly complete and it shall end as it began: biting and clawing for every experience point. It is far too late to back down now, see you on the other side.

Don't forget the first aid quest now that you are 89. It's a one time quest that gives level xp.

The battle ended and the only sounds that could be heard were the babbling of the flowing river and the buzzing of insects. Both combatants lay in the muck and it was unclear which had won. After a few moments, the feline climbed to her feet and did the only thing a cat could do: sat down and began to groom herself. It had been a long road to reach this place and over 51000 had died, but she was not thinking of that. Her eyes scanned the horizon as she licked her wounds. Soon it would be time to fight again. Soon the battles would come for her again. When that day came she would do what she did best: survive against all odds. For now though, for now she would rest.

So.... congrats and consider posting what you have learned. What would you do different? What advice for new irons or irons going the horde route? Add to the 2014 IMC guide with advice!
Thanks!

I am very much interested in your "delicate tactics". If you wouldn't mind sharing, I would be ever so grateful.

Ironicow lifted her rested head and peered into the growing gloom with eyes that took on an unnatural glow. The time had come to rise to battle again. She would stalk onto the field of battle once more, alone and unaided, to build a monument to her inevitable demise with the corpses of fallen foes that all passersby would see and know that she had died as she lived, iron strong.
((I have returned, sort of. The math of what I planned as depressed me to the point that I realized my tactics are no long acceptable. By my calculations, if I can average 10 seconds per kill including travel time between mobs, it will take approximately 185 days of play time to reach 100. I may have to consider doing dailies as most *all?* here do.))

Welcome back, nice to see you on the Alliance side now and then for a chat.
Dailies are not too bad, just have to get used to them day after day. <snicker> <Asy does a face palm> <Fer says "heh">

Sadly, it is not the doing them that worries me, just that the rules I was following did not allow dailies.
