I hadn't had the time to do much ironman recently, but I've been knocking out XP every once in a while. Unfortunately, last night bad luck, bad decisions, and the fact that I'm out of practice led to my demise.
I was doing the Therazane dailies in Deepholm, which I had just unlocked, in the cave there, and one of the big gyreworms for the quest Beneath the Surface killed me. I simply didn't realize how much damage it did, nor did I remember that its earth attack, unlike the graphically similar attacks from the little ones, are player-target rather than ground-targeted and so cannot be dodged.
So that's it for me. I have the patience to start over again, but, alas, not the time. I may start a new one just for laughs, but I can't expect that I'd get that far along. You may still see me around from time to time, but I'll no longer be way up there, and I can't aspire to get there again any time soon, if at all.
Another concern for me is that the post-MoP iron mage playstyle is much less enjoyable than pre-MoP.
Ironman was great fun for me, and it reignited my interest in WoW at a time when it was really flagging. Even if y'all haven't seen me around much in the last year or so, I still loved the community and I'm glad that interest in Ironman persists. But, Enferrujo has met his end and taken with him most of my reasons to keep playing.
Thank you all, stay safe out there, and most of all have fun.
