Talk of petless hunters inspired me, and claims that a minionless Warlock were not viable dared me, so I have undertaken the challenge.
Feloci (Fe-loc-i) Iron Warlock One (i, ii, iiv, iv, v, vi, vii, iix, ix, x, xi, ... iii is not allowed so i'll go with iiv, iix, ... hopefully i won't need/use all of those)
Made it to level 10 and added myself to the tracking site.
Choose Worgen so, once I get out of the starting area, I will have four other starting zones to maximize my experience with lower level quests.
If I come to an insurmountable challenge before completing the Worgen zone, I will retry with a Human. Always have the option of visiting other starting areas for easy experience if need be.

Level 13 and I have gotten out of the Worgen starting area.
No real problems so far, and now I'm off to Teldrassil for some easy low level questing.
The 2.5 second Shadow Bolt cast can be frightening in a tough battle, but nothing really tough yet.

Good luck! I'll be interested to see when it starts getting hard for you, I've been measuring my normal lock's progress on my voidwalker's health, it's starting to get tougher in the 50s now. He's got half my health, but way higher armour, so it'll be interesting to see how it goes for a minionless lock - those named mobs with really high health might be a problem I reckon, although healthstones will offset it a bit.

Ya know, when I read that Warlocks were limited to Shadow Bolt only, I just assumed that was a slight exaggeration and you just had to wait longer to get more useful abilities.
I didn't realize that is almost literally true. Shadow Bolt and Corruption as the only damage spells until (and including) 100?! All I can say is WOW!!!
Are any other classes this limited when it comes to abilities?

Yes, priests now have only Smite and Shadow Word: Pain. (And Shadowfiend on cooldown)

Doomguard/Infernal as 10minute dps cds, but they cost as much as summoning a voidwalker, and without lifetap it's a question of if it's worth the risk against a tough mob, since you might not be able to summon that last voidwalker you need... ofc that's for a normal lock, does minionless mean you won't be using the temp pets either? If so you'll be very very restricted on spells. There are quite literally no other damage abilities, nor any debuffs you can place on the mobs any more to reduce the dmg they do, all you have as cc is banish which only works on two mobtypes, and... that's about it really. Underwater breathing has its uses lol... fear can be used in very clear areas, think I used it maybe once on my current ironman. It's pretty bad, and I think the terrible damage (soon to be worse, if that 25% shadowbolt nerf goes live) will be what makes it toughest for minionless, as I think a fairly large amount of my dmg comes from my voidwalker; haven't checked a dmg meter this time but I know in MoP when I ran one, my vw did 50%+ of my dmg.

Watched one of Lyssan's petless hunter videos and noticed a lot of kiting.
With a 2.5 second cast as my only damage dealing ability, don't think I'm going to be doing much kiting.
I suppose I could just dot up mobs and then kite them around, but taking a quick look at some numbers: Shadow Bolt - 126% damage, 2.5 second cast Corruption - 210% damage, 18 second dot
So, in the time Corruption can do 210%, I could cast around 7 Shadow Bolts for 882% (four times as much damage).
At some point I'm not going to be able to stand toe-to-toe with mobs so kiting may be my only option.
Haven't really thought about Doomguard/Infernal, but doesn't really seem in the spirit of minionless, but I'll worry about that when I get there.

Was just wondering if there are any trackable stats about minions, or hunter pets, to prove to the world, once I reach 100, that I didn't use a minion.
You actually start with an Imp by your side when you create a new character (had to dismiss my Imp) so if there are stats I will always have at least one summon. Unless there is like a minion damage done stat, or something, I guess the personal challenge will have to be enough for me.
But, one thing I really like about the Iron challenge, is that it shows people what can be accomplished. You don't need epic gear or anything.
With patience, caution, and good decisions (although, is playing a Warlock without minions a good decision?!), you can still accomplish great (greater?) things.

Hunters have their pets listed on the bnet profile. The pet level reflects the last time they have been out, since they level with you. Unfortunately I haven't seen any similar information for warlocks at least in the visible part of the profile.

(although, is playing a Warlock without minions a good decision?!) It's definitely a masochistic one.
