Hi all, I was made aware of the Ironman challenge recently through a friend and have currently got 2 live challengers. I have lost 2 toons already, 1st death (lv16) was at Sentinel hill where I got ambushed by some fast respawning gnolls, the 2nd (lv21) was whilst attempting to do a quest in Duskwood, I got attacked by some stealthed worgens in Rotting Orchard.
My living chars are currently my back up called Ironispheric (nightelf hunter on Earthen Ring EU) level 17 resting in Redridge and my main challenger called Ironette (human hunter on Silvermoon EU) level 37 resting in Hinterlands.
I will post my progress as I go.

Questing in Redridge today took my back up char Ironispheric up to level 19 opening the start up quest for Duskwood so relocated to the Inn at Darkshire.

Good luck towny, don't get discouraged if you die a few times. This was not meant to be easy.

Thanks ash, I am expecting a tough ride after reading through the posts here and I've been listening to the podcasts for more tips and tricks. Is there a 'feat of strength' if you manage to make it to max level?

Thank you, my friend thought there was a FoS awarded on completion, oh well I can tell her there is none. I think a big part of the challenge is to be patient. Waiting for rested exp is fairly essential once you've got beyond level 10 - 15. I am itching to get on with it

Quested some more in Hinterlands today and took Ironette up to level 38, just out of rested exp so will leave her there for a few days, mobs are mostly green and don't pose too much trouble.
My back up Ironispheric is now up to level 20 after a few easy quests, nice to be able to mount up at last, but will have to go carefully with next bunch of quests in Rotting Orchard, those stealthy mobs have already cost me my previous back up IMC char.

Sadly I lost my back up char yesterday at level 20 in Duskwood, I got a bit careless and managed to aggro 3 mobs so I disengaged and ran heading towards the road but I managed to pick up 1 of those black widow spiders which nailed me. However, on a more positive note my main IMC Ironette managed to ding to level 39 in Hinterlands, ran out of quests there so I moved on up to Chillwind Camp in Western Plaguelands where she's resting up before the push on towards level 40 for faster mounts and mail armour.

Did some questing in Western Plaguelands and managed to take Ironette up to level 40, happy to reach that milestone Will rest up a bit now in Chillwind camp before carrying on.

Great to see your hunter is coming along nicely. Good Luck with the rest of the journey! Many thanks, good luck to you too. Well today I managed to take Ironette up another level to 41. The quests were yellow for me in Western Plaguelands and I didn't want to push my luck, so I went back to the Hinterlands and continued questing until getting the Hinterlands quests achievement. I also collected some Coins of Ancestry for some safe xp, then finished up doing more green quests down in the Cape of Stranglethorn until dinging 41, then hearthed back to Chillwind Camp where I shall rest up for now. I also have a couple other low level Alliance chars attempting the Pacifist and Bloodthirsty challenges which helps to fill time whilst waiting for a bit of rested xp. The Pacifist char made level 15 today but it's very slow going and the Bloodthirsty char is also 15 but is the least fun challenge for me, I can only handle it for a 30 minute spell every now and again.

Whilst collecting 'Coins of Ancestry' the other day I noticed the quests in Theramore were green, so tonight I decided to relocate Ironette to the Inn at Theramore and did some questing there finishing up about 3 bars short of level 42. My next quest will be to locate Jarl, moving up into the marshes for the next batch of quests. A few points to be wary of are keeping away from the Horde camp Brackenwall Village, the escort quest I remember doing a long time time ago may be tricky and also the 'Deserters' quest which I also remember having a tough time with. I also remember there used to be some high level elite mobs patroling the waters around the Alcaz Island.
On a sad note I lost my Bloodthirsty char which was just level 15 to those pesky murlocs up in Redridge, so I've rerolled a Blood elf hunter and will see how it goes with a little Hordie.

Did some more questing in Dustwallow and took Ironette up to level 43. Did the escort quest for 'Stinky' making sure the route ahead was clear and it went nicely, also did the collecting spider eyes quest up near the Horde camp being careful not to wander too close. I didn't go to Tabetha's farm yet and the quest for Mudsprocket is still yellow, so I decided to relocate back to Western Plaguelands and did some quests from The Menders Stead, my next quest there is to go to Northridge Lumber Mill and I'm 70% through this level now so quite happy with my progress so far. Note: There were some nice little gear upgrades I was able to buy from vendors in Theramore, allowing me to replace some of my old leather gear. Also visited Darkmoon Faire which with the start quest and first aid quest reward tokens was able to make a few gold and purchase a nice 16 slot bag.

Did the quests up at Northridge Lumber Mill tonight and made it to level 44, the next quests are up at Hearthglen so I made my way there, got the fp and returned to the Inn at Chillwind Camp to rest.

Made it to level 46 tonight on Ironette, after finishing my quests in Western Plagueland, went back to Theramore to finish all the quests in Dustwallow. I was up near the place where 'the Deserters' quest is, when I spotted a warlock attempting the same quest so I helped him pick off all the surrounding mobs and was able to complete it without any bother. Continued on and did all the quests at Tabethas farm, then moved on down to Mudsprocket and did all the quests there, getting the achievement for the Dustwallow quests. Now it's time for a new zone, so rather than try to get to Desolace/Feralas via Ashenvale/Stonetalon, I've decided to have a go at Eastern Plaguelands. The quests from Fiona's caravan are now green so hopefully it'll be ok. It's been such a long time since I've quested in Kalimdor and I'm aware a lot of the landscape changed for the Cataclysm and I'm not 100% sure if the route is safe to get through to Desolace/Feralas, so I'll use my scout to check it out soon. My preferred route from the pre Cata days was via Ratchet > follow the path down to the south of the Barrens to the Great Lift which is now sadly broken > from there you could either head up to Feralas or head the other way for Tanaris.
