I was on ventrilo having a chat with fellow ironman contenders from my mains guild. When one of our fairly fresh Ironmen Tekaz(18 Human Warlock) says on vent... "Some dude just said in General that horde are camping the gnolls in Red Ridge Mountains." I replied, "Hearth out man, its not worth the death." Moments later and much cussing on vent I was finally able to ascertain he had been killed inside the Inn at Red Ridge Mountains by a Horde Druid!
May Tekaz rest in peace. Frostmourne PvP is hard work to do this stuff!
34 Nelf Hunter at the moment and all has been relatively smooth sailing thus far for me! - Again, PvP server for extra challenge!

Hammered, level 45 Paladin, just died to Ix'lar the Underlord in EPL... I had lag thanks to some stuff (I think Steam) doing an online update right when I pulled him. He really hits hard as well, so after a panic LoH and a fumbled Flash Heal it was over really quick. Too bad, just when I got to a level where it became interesting... and it would not have happened without the lag spike either.
EDIT: After reviewing the combat log, I can only warn any (paladin) challenger of this mob. His insect swarm hits for 200-250, and he'll definitely do it several times since your DPS is so low, even with the help you get from the quest NPC. I'd skip the quest next time, you don't really need it anyway.

The great Dwarf hunter Shortypie comes across a pack of nasty looking trolls, and decides of passing them by since there is 5 of them. Starts to sneak away, but remembers needs tusks and medicine pouches from these filthy vermin. She sizes them up, looking, calculating. With her trusty pet raptor Meangreen it makes it 2 against 5, and with 28 hard earn level of combat under her belt these trolls should be easy to put down. After all they are so far below her that they are green.
Shortypie slowly gets into position, selecting the witchy troll first. Sending in Greenmean she takes out the witch first. Yay! She targets the next, only to notice that the 3 warrior trolls are heading her way! She thinks ok don't panic, just buckshot one to disoreintate one. Sick Greenmean on another, and just focus on the other warrior, wingclipping.
Still they all keep coming....there is no way to take them all on. Must retreat! Tries running but sadly waited to long to retreat. The warriors keep hitting, swinging taking no mercy. To much blood lost, stumbles to the ground, while the trolls keep kicking till no movement.
Shortypies family is sadden by the news, but out of death comes a new hero! Shortypietoo has given up her dream of owning a world renowned restaurant to find those that are responsible for her sisters death!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
R.I.P Shortypie/Dawnbringer - deceased at 28

HearnDryw ("Iron Wren") was out gathering some lasher-thorn-whatevers because the Hand of Argus asked her to help. Not exactly paying attention, she was fighting the giant flower - and thinking uncharitable things about gardening- when a murloc wandered across her path. The lasher died, the murloc was going to die, Wren was feeling rather smug... when a giant angry bear spawned right behind her.
" 'Go get some lasher-thorn-whatevers,' they said, 'how hard could it be?' " her dismembered parts thought as she was slowly digested. "I sure hope one of them scoops me up for a proper warriors pyre. THEY'LL see just how bad lasher-thorn-whatevers can get!"

I was fighting along the southern lake in Zangarmarsh, working my way through the naga there one at a time. Pull aggro from my pet, which happens often, while fighting one of the sorceresses there. Didn't seem like a big deal, a couple frost bolts I can handle and I'm around 50% health (1300'ish HP), but the sorceress is nearly dead, (I'm waiting on the GCD to hit my kill shot) when I die... I had been standing half in the water and did not notice a freezing circle type spell cast on me and once completed hit me for ~1400 damage... 1 day, 23 hours, 17 minutes....all to start over again....

Is it a known issue that orc females begin to develop eye problems in their late teens?
Ironmad, 19, was just heading back to Ratchet after killing some raptors when she spotted a herd of giraffes, assuming they're all infant critters. "Well tie me to a tadpole and call me Franklin, why not thunderclap that bunch of critters to show off my superior warrior's strength?!" Said and done, the unsuspecting bunch of tall necked animals saw some of their young die while most of them didn't feel a thing. When they spotted the source of this supposed-to-be massacre they didn't hesitate for a moment before they started stomping away with their all so lethal hooves.
Ironmad is mourned by her closest friend, Mr. Chilly the Penguin.
Learn the difference between a group of critters and regular mobs before you do it the hard way.

After finally become legal age and having accounted a nice body count, it with regret that I have to inform the masses that Hotteats was drug beneath the ground by a gnoll who had found his home within a hill and as such was immune to all attacks and vain attempts at deeming his whereabouts... Time to delete and make Hotteats the warrior, number 2...

Dang! I cannot believe this! I just started my character and targeted my SECOND kill, started the spell to fire at it, and MY STUPID INTERNET LAGGED AND THEN CUT OFF!!! Wth? Of course you know how that ends - since I was starting a spell and because it takes a while for your character to stop being in the world when it dc's like that, when I finally got back on, I was dead!!!!!!! I'm so mad! Is there a consolation prize for the fasted death? If such a prize ever come into being, you deserve it. Long time ago, right after achievements went live, I discussed anti-achievements with my guildies. We agreed upon a few. Now I only remember one: Be PvP'ed by a player at least 25 lvls below your own. I got that one. A Hordie hunter got me in Durotar as a lvlv 85 Pally. I was away for bio-break, and I did just not make it on my return. He deserved every one of his (I hope) many honor points XD

We hear that Irondoom, the warlock, was shot down over Dragonblight last night. He was 76.
BE CAREFUL OF THE OPPOSING FACTION BASES IN CONTESTED TERRITORIES...this is like the third shoot down I have heard of..

Died at 43. standing at the top of a tower, was getting attacked by a bugged mob standing on the bottom. dead before i could get down to it.
Another character bit it at 48 in searing gorge, died to a mob attacking me from beneath the ground that I couldn't get away from.
Last straw, on what i promised myself was my final attempt, died to a random disconnect during combat at 13.
I wish the best of luck to people still trying, but this game is still too buggy for me to try this again.

R.i.P my lovely Ironvanea She died with lvl 60 on Hellfire Peninsula. Couldn't help her even if she was a Paladin with many heal possibilitys there was no chance against the serverlag I am afraid that the greatest "Killer of Irons" of them all are DC's and lag I commiserate. Today my just turned 20 Paladin, Rustypal, was fighting her way to the top of Bloodcurse Isle. She valiantly fought naga after naga. She sat down and refreshed her spirits on a glass of cold milk. She arose, drew her sword and hit the next naga. Suddenly the world turned black. and when she came to again the world was a bleak grey and she was a spirit. After having accustomed herself to the situatin, she decided to let another of her kind carry the torch. But after having lost 4 sisters to the same strange occurrence, she decided to take a break.

Lesson learned today: when a bunch of posts on Wowhead say a named mob is "mislabelled" as elite and he's totally a joke, go look at all his abilities for yourself.
Mazoga for the quest Secrets in the Oasis - somewhere between 3,500 and 3,800 hp (I can't remember the exact number and Wowhead doesn't say) - Heroic Strike with a debuff increasing melee dmg by 10% - Debuff which lowers strength by 15, does 90 to 210 dmg instantly and another 125 over 15 seconds - Whirlwind for 100% weapon dmg (this apparently can be done even when you disarm him...) - Vanishes when he's low on health (this must be basically 0 hp because at 200ish hp he was very much still fighting me)
Now maybe if you're a hunter this is still an easy fight for you, but I can tell you that he was pretty much built to kill warriors. I almost had him too. I was about to shadowmeld because things were clearly very close, but Revenge procc'd. Normally this would have been more than enough to finish him off. Except that it missed.... probably because he's a boss.....
