(Warning for post length. It's pretty long.)
Hi.
A little bit about me.
I've been doing ironman since very late 2015. I stalked the forums in December 2015 and started a toon a few days before New Years. (Red Flagged before level 7. I don't like to talk about it.) And I've been hooked ever since then. I kept my WoW subscription running for a majority of legion solely for the challenge since endgame content didn't interest me much at the time. I do like it now, but it's too late to really progress, so I'm spending my days doing this challenge. The highest I've ever gotten was 80, on my iron WW monk, which is still alive to this day. I'm retiring her forever, as I have no interest in dailying my way to max, since mobs in Hyjal hit like a god damn TRUCK and I don't have quite enough patience to do all the quests in Northrend to get a few measley levels. Since then, my 3 highest before her have also been monks. See a pattern? Monk main, through and through. Doesn't stop me from trying other toons in the meantime, though.
Enter this thread. About 2 weeks ago, I decided to get back into the challenge after simply losing interest in WoW to fall back into my Overwatch addiction, never quite testing out the waters in the new scaled world. I tested out Hyjal on my aforementioned 80 monk, got shredded several times (thankfully not dying!), did some dilly dallying on my 40 hunter in Darkshore, then basically just quit for a while. 6 months later, here we are. My first order of business was...deleting a lot of my irons that weren't the 80 monk. I don't know why. I had a 40, a 25, a 30, and some toon around 17. So I constantly smack myself in the head for doing that. But it led to something new; trying out a class I had NEVER done before on a challenge. Warlock. And trying out a race I had NEVER used for a challenge, let alone very rarely on a normal toon. Blood Elf. I absolutely DESPISE Blood Elves and this challenge won't change it, but you know. Tauren, another race I'd never used, can't be warlocks. I picked Horde solely because I've never gotten a Horde character above 60. That's right. I've been subbed to this game since 2006 and my highest Horde character was a Troll Druid I got to 60 in cataclysm that I promptly deleted because I got bored of her. The second closest was a 44 undead warlock that I have also deleted. I have a problem with deleting toons. (Maybe the correlation with no high Horde Toons was being extremely young when I first bought the game. Dad thought it was a good idea to give a preschooler a violent, HARD video game. I was bad at it, obviously. Don't think I got a toon above 30 until mid Wrath.)
You know what my favorite mount in the game is? Ashes of Al'ar. You know what my second favorite mount is? Wind Riders. Yep. Boring old Wind Riders. The default flying Horde mounts. And you know what I've never done? Gotten a horde character to 60. Sure, I got the troll druid to 60, but I had to use flight form in place of a wind rider. So I decided to cut my streak of only alliance characters for Iron. Or, er, more accurately, green man. Not very fond about the endgame grind with dailies, so I'd rather just be able to quest, albeit painfully slow at the later levels. I'm gonna get to 60 whether I like it or not. Just for the Wind Rider mount. I have all of the Wind Riders in my inventory. I ride them on the ground. But it's not the same as their flying animation.
So there's the life story. Now to the juicy stuff, with the actual toons.
My first incarnation of the blood elf warlock journey was cut short at 16 when I started attacking a worgen in the pathway of that long street in Silverpine. I think it was Gilneas, not the normal Silverpine road. Turns out I picked the worst spot to attack this guy. Fought him right where the worgens SPAWNED. And they spawned FAST. Before I had killed the first one, I had 4 on me. I just gave up. No amount of Drain Life or Fears would help me now. Rip Rexalot, 2018-2018. You will be missed.
And now we have my current one. Rexloc. 42. Kicking names and taking ass. I told myself at the wee level of 9 that if I made it to 40 comfortably, I would open up a thread to share my little story. Continue it until I reached max. Even if it meant I died at 89 or whatever, I'd just level right back up with a new toon and left off where I started. (Hopefully not, fingers crossed!) Post some pics, update on milestones. Typical stuff.
And here's the stuff you're waiting for. The details for my adventure for my Green Man, Blood Elf Warlock.
And before you say anything. Yes, I know my UI is ugly and off center. Yes, I'm too lazy to fix it.
My earliest image of little Rexloc. I never thought I would make it to 40 so I didn't really screenshot much beforehand. Just killed Shadra, who had a WHOPPING 13k health at 34~. Scared the shit out of me. Forgot to take taunt off of blueberry because of the extra adds to help you kill her and he somehow lived!
Terrifying baby I found while questing in EP. Strapped to the back of an NPC.
Just a cool shot of my character when I was sorting out my weapons and figuring out if my wand and offhand were better than my staff. Terrible fashion sense.
Big 4-0.
Bunch of Ally RPers I ran into when going to turn in stuff at Hammerfall. I did ./fart 10 times in a row and somebody made a rude gesture at me. Good times.
41 and 42.
Sorry they're not very good quality pics. I run a toaster labeled "for gamers" but I can see straight through HP's lies. And I SWEAR there will be less pics in the next few posts, and it'll be more..."story" oriented, I guess? More typey, less piccy.
Here's to 60, and hopefully 110!
