This is far quicker than flying around flight paths with the flight path toys and requires nearly zero gold... saving that explore exp and coin for later levels. Granted it helps being a night elf in case you need Shadowmeld to drop aggro at some point (most times you can just outrun aggro so a non-NE could do this too especially if they have heals) and the heirloom mount helps to outrun mobs as you explore since starting zone mobs move slower than normal mobs.
Level 1:
- Leave the spawn point and do a full circle exploring Teldrassil clockwise starting with the Star Breeze village area.
- Stop at the Glowing Fruit Spawn at Lake Al'ameth to get that quest.
- Skim the edge of Gnarlpine Hold on the way to the Pools of Arilhrien.
- Continue to The Oracle Glade and grab the Shimmering Frond spawn for that quest.
- Cross the Wellspring River to the Wellspring Hovel for those explores.
- Turn in The Shimmering Frond and Glowing Fruit at the quest NPC NW of the Ban-ethil Hollow.
- Skim the edge of Ban-ethil Hallow and the Cleft area for explores and that will ding lvl 2.
Level 2:
- Explore Dolanaar and grab the quests: The Emerald Dreamcatcher, A Troubling breeze and Reminders of Home.
- Set Hearth at Dolanaar.
- Fly to Darnassus to turn in the Reminders of home and finish that quest line including returning to Dolanaar.
- Turn in A Troubling Breeze (this will ding you 3) and get the follow up quest Gnarlpine Corruption.
Level 3:
- Grab the Emerald Dreamcatcher from the building across the village (this and the prior step can be done in one quick trip ignoring the mobs while they chase you). The dreamcatcher is one of those rare items that getting hit while looting it doesn't stop you from looting the item.
- Move to the North and grab the Dolanaar Delivery quest from the NPC outside the entry to Shadowglen.
- Return to Dolanar and turn in all three quests (Dreamcatcher, Delivery and Gnarlpine).
- Fly to Darnassus and take the red portal to Rut'theran Village to complete Explore Teldrassil.
- Take the SW portal and go to a point inside the Cathedral District past the city hall building to the right of the Cathedral (just past the Archway to the area behind the Cathedral. (105 explore exp ratehr than 25 at this level)
- Start Exploring Elwynn forest leaving Stormwind. Go to Goldshire, then Crystal Lake (safe by the fishing trainer) and then explore the backside of the big hill over the Fargodeep Mine (will pop explore exp for Goldtooth's Den) to ding lvl 4.
Level 4:
- Return to Goldshire and grab the quest A Fishy Quest and turn it in for the quest Further Concerns.
- Grab the quest Elmore's Task from Smith Argus.
- Return to Stormwind and grab the Wine Shop Avert and Harlan Needs a Resupply quests.
- Turn in Harlan Needs a Resupply and get the follow up quest: Package for Thurman.
- Then turn in Wine Shop Advert, Package for Thurman and Elmore's Task in that order.
- Leave Stormwind and explore into Northshire Valley and grab the delivery quest then return to Goldshire for turn in and set your hearth here.
- Turn in Further Concerns at Guard Thomas and get the quest Find the Lost Guards. Then follow the stream north to turn it in and grab the follow up.
At this point you will be no more than a bubble or two from lvl 5 and can either do the quest: Discover Rolfs fate (sketchy with all the murlocs), or goto the Logging Camp and do the quest: A bundle of Trouble (pretty easily done dodging pathing wolves and bears) or you can just finish exploring Elwynn to get level 5.
Ding 5 and grats! You now have enough coin for learning mining/herbing/fishing after you hearth back to Goldshire. Starting picking flowers to your hearts content, doing archaeology eventually and grinding those cooking/fishing dailies... or be insane like me and try moving forward from this point without tradeskills
You can certainly supplement this with any chests you stumble across (like the safe one at the Stonefield Farm in Elwynn), additional exploring in the starting zones, holiday events (none soon), some of the various 'safe' Elwynn, Azuremyst Isle or Dun Morogh quests (most pop at lvl 4), the Darkmoon Faire if it is available (mostly for the gold) or even defeating Hogger (just don't kill the adds that spawn - the quest is worth a TON of exp at this level: about 900 of the 2100 needed at lvl 4 and is easily done in starting gear).
Granted none of this will hold true anymore after the double experience buff ends, but the level squish will likely happen at the same time and all bets are off then on what will and won't work best at low levels for a pacifist.
Also please note that done right most/all of this can be done without ever needing Shadowmeld if you are careful and plan escape routes after things like grabbing The Emerald Dreamcatcher or the Glowing Fruit/Shimmering Frond. Even if you die it's not like you can't spend a few minutes redoing it. At this point I can do the first 5 levels on autopilot.
