1. The quest A New Adornment in southern Ashenvale has quite a few level 24/25 Furbolgs surrounding the quest NPC (level 26). If you decide to do this quest, be very careful -- or wait until someone else comes and kills them all, and wait for the quest NPC. The quest NPC has a shorter respawn timer than the guards. 2. The Last Stand in Ashenvale. The NPC fighting the demons asks you to kill 30 of them, but a lot attack the quest NPC (I'd stay near him if you decide to do this quest), spawning from the corners of the buildings. There's a high chance multiple will attack you at the same time if you use AoE spells. 3. -- I'll update this post as I continue doing quests. The Last Stand in Ashenvale can be countered by this tactic: Target the friendly mob the demons are attacking. He usually delays a little less than a second before 1-shotting the demon he targets. If you can tag it before he does, this quest goes by very quickly.

Captain Dreadbeard in Tanaris, in Lost Rigger Cove has been a moderate pain before, but now he's really hard. I haven't exhausted my options here, but I'm going elsewhere and coming back at a higher level. I've done him many times on a few classes. As a hunter (which I was this time), I usually freeze trap the giant while pet and I then kill down the Captain. This time, though, the freeze trap lasted all of about 1 second before breaking. I was not hitting him, nor was my pet. Both of us kept target on the captain. Also, together the giant and captain kill my pet much faster than before. I may be attempting it on a monk within a week, but really want to know more before attempting w/o a pet and FD. If the freeze trap trick just doesn't work anymore, then we'll have to do it the old way: kill the giant, then the captain. I'll try freezing captain first instead, and then try killing both in order. I can't really tell if they've increased the difficulty of this encounter, or what. Has anyone else taken him down since 6.2 landed? They have 'fixed' many quests in this last patch, but this one seems broken from before. This quest is a bottleneck to unlock the 2nd half or so of Tanaris quests. If this guy is an iron stopper, I'll be spending a lot less time in Tanaris and maybe have to fill content with Badlands or something else. /shakestinyfist I've killed this guy as a priest. I can't remember what level I was, but the normal pirates were green/yellow at the time. I just kited the giant off the boat, off the docks, and onto the mountains to the side and killed the giant soon after and killed Dreadbeard with ease. Whenever he did bloodbath, I just moved away and continued dps.

I'm going to add Lost Isles at the moment -- all those yellow, non-aggressive panthers. I wanted to get a level ahead to be able to face the chicken and nearly died from their swipe. A 200 hp+ Iron vs a 120 non-critical swipe of the cat. Tested it with another cat and the swipe skill they use truly does 2/3 of an hp damage, so be careful if you're leveling goblin that kills relatively slow (so they have time to swipe you...a quicker kill didn't seem to get the skill to be cast). The raptors were a safer bet. If it was already mentioned, I apologize, too lazy to read the thread through at the moment (standing with that very goblin among mobs in the background) Edit: Claw*

Dropping the hammer is a very tricky quest. If you use the gryphon provided, it will be very hard if you don't learn quickly how it works, and if you gryphon dies you will fall to the ground and likely died (like it just happened to me) There is the posssibility of using your own flying mount to get to the floating rocks. However the Twilight Stormbenders have a big Knockback that can throw you off the rock (and you'll die unless on the lower ones), so just make sure you attack from the center of the rock so as not fall down. The boss is an elite, at 89 my monk was able to kill him Once dead, I scouted the Crucible of carnage nearby. I was able to kill the first few bosses with less than 20% hp left, but the the earl of evisceration just squashed me

Sorry to hear that Xaya, that's one vehicle quest I always avoided due to the quirks in it. That explains why the guild coroner was called out to TH and to bring a spatula....

Gonna put it here, too:
After the Legion pre-patch, monks besides WW lost Touch of Death ability. One of the daily quests in Peak of Serenity requires to defeat Master Woo (a female dwarf), that is undefeatable without it. She will kill you if you can't outrun her and outheal her damage on you. She also doesn't reset -- I had to use the portal to Orgrimmar to shake her off on my MW. So if you're specced MW or BrM, be wary.

Actually unless they changed things you can't actually die against the trainers. They just reduce you to 1 life and the fight is over, but the one trainer does cast fire onto the ground that stays after the fight so if you are standing in it after the fight is over it can kill you.

General Marstone (silverpine questchain) still hits like a freight train. Nearly killed my 22 warrior who was facerolling everything until then, including elites. Beware.
The final two fights after it in the chain (Lorna Crowley and Godfrey) are easy.

So at 7.0 the Brutusk quest is heavily bugged. First I got stuck without the ability to dismount on the mount while it stood, doing nothing, dying to the night elves and left me in the middle of quest area filled with aggressive archers. Then, on a a relog and prayer that it didn't cause my death, it took me to Splintertree Post and then left me right in front of the Alliance tagged giant tree that besieges it.
I managed to elude death by shield block but good God, be careful when doing the starting Ashenvale from Horde side. If I wasn't on a prot war I'd probably be a pancake on the ground.

I actually did that Brutusk quest the other day. The trick is when he freezes (instead of "making them pay") relog, then run back to the quest giver guy and take the shortcut option. You'll take a wyvern to Splintertree Post.

"Students of Krastinov' - Western Plaguelands. Since 'Legion' I have noticed a Lev 98 elite Neutral Slime in the border river with Eastern Plaguelands. Watch out for your AoE as it looks aggro-able. It's not near the mobs in the quest but clearing your escape route (like I did) might bring you quite near it and 'Kon Tiki' - your NPC companion *does* use AoE but not sure whether that will bring in adds - I'm certainly not going to try it today !!
