Damn Damn Damn - Ix'lar (EPL) - One shotted by !! should have checked. Ho Hum - gutted.... was being so cautious too. Will continue with Irongopher but will probably hold until MoP afterwards if all goes west with her. *sobs* *pats Gopher gently on the back* There, there. It will be okay.

Gopher, my condolences on such a surprise instant death. Don't give up.
I learned the hard way twice to avoid EPL. It's a fair challenge with a few big cautions even for geared players. These days, I go to Dustwallow Marsh, Thousand Needles, and Tanaris instead of anything in the Plaguelands, even Western. However, I play Horde. There's gotta be alternatives you can find too.
My rage: returning from AFK, I forgot to start at an edge and clear to objective with the safety of overkill. In Coldarra in BT, a pather plus pet added, one froze, then i scampered and Feigned before dying. Worst luck: the place I feigned at was directly in the path of the add once he returned to pathing.
My girlfriend was phone calling her father in the other room. My primal scream was so loud, he asked if I was ok.

Fiveiron, I'm so sorry to hear of your death (however, I did laugh outloud when I read the last line of your post - I've been there myself).
Coldarra is a terrible place to play. I took my previous paladin there for a bit but couldn't handle the nerve wracking sight of those dragons flying about. They have killed my regular alts so many times that I'm overly paranoid now. I only did about 6 quests out there and left for greener pastures.

Coldarra is very much one to avoid; I did it and very nearly died, at lvl 76! Just too many adds that can join in round there, not worth it.

It was my instinct to avoid Coldarra, but I should've listened to it.

A mix of Ix'lar and playing while severely sleep deprived finally got Myronie. If I had been more awake, I would have survived by hitting Shadowmeld, but I wasn't. I had been planning to off Myronie anyway and restart on Tuesday after the patch, but it was sooner than I would have liked. Especially given what I had been hoping to do for her RP. I still plan to do something to RP it all though

RIP.
I see so many dying to Ix'lar. The trick to killing him - and doing so without any problems at all - is to let your paladin friend do all the work. I'm sure that's how the quest was designed.

Thanks for the replies and condolences. It's definitely one of those quests where you see a level 41 and think it's just like all the other preceeding quests. So so wrong.... he hits like a train! If I get to that point with Irongopher, I think, I'll just take the advice and stick with Dustwallow. I think the golden rule posted somewhere else on this board is to treat any quest with NPC 'helpers' with caution.

Yeah, you never know. For me the paladin helper tends to just disappear and I will know not to rely on him.

I did EPL the second time around on my priest, that time entering it later, at lvl 43. It wasn't TOO bad. Great experience, and most quests were easy-ish to complete; so many simple monster slayer quests. But some gathering quests felt way too long, especially in the start and in Plaguewood. Avoid most boss mobs like plague. Killing the two death knights near the end in Plaguewood was a great test of skill, I felt really good after managing to beat them both after so many tries.
I wish the best of luck to you still standing alive, and condolences to all those warriors fallen in battle...

Dead at 67 again. I went from ~40% health to dead in no time flat. I had killed about 7-8 of these things with no problem before this one: Much respect to anyone who makes it as a warrior, it's much tougher than it was pre-patch. Fights take forever now and way too many things can go wrong. Good luck all.

Oh Froz, NO!!! I'm so sorry to see this! It sounds incredibly difficult as a warrior now, and I'm impressed that you found a way to keep at it. RIP, friend.
