RIP Senny ... and today Aonomizu at level 19 AND my new Mizu at level 10 fell victim to the telephone curse! In both cases I had just attacked a solo mob when the telephone rang, I answered, thinking it would be OK with one-hand killing of one mob. In both cases a passing patrol joined the fracas and killed me off. GRRRR Mizu the 4th had even survived several "telephone talking while fighting" (http://www.wowhead.com/npc=55640) in Wood of Staves. Which is my place to be killed on the isle if not Raggis did it (http://www.wowhead.com/npc=55506/raggis). Real live disturbances are the biggest killer of irons. I have started a new Mizu currently level 5, hoping for not too much spill over from the former ones.

Oh No !!!! Sorry Dran but good luck with #5. I have never been killed by Raggis - I normally just quaking palm him, grab the mallet and roll away and let the NPCs annoy him while I go and hand in the quest. Forest of Staves is a killer though as those sprites patrol fast ...... and a sad ending when you hand the quest in. Looking forward to you getting your [Giddy Up] achiev. soon.

Thanks for Quaking palms advice. It made my day. I buggered this Q every way possible, but survived easily. Just listen how stupid I was: I took mallet Q, but not Ironbrow's for gathering planks. I mis-clicked, I think. Went to the brewery, put Quaking Palms on Raggis, clicked mallet, pulled him to the 2 farmers who took over. Then back to Ji Firepaw only to find I did not bring that dang mallet. I then accepted Ironbrow's Q, went back to the brewery, picked up the mallet and gathered the 12 planks for Ironbrow, killing a couple of irritating vermin in the process. When I passed the 2 farmers, they were still fighting Raggis, so I gave a hit or two, and received XP for killing him. Totally undeserved, as the poor farmers did all the actual killing! ETA: Mizu is now on the list of challengers again at level 10. Due to glitches and spill-over, she seems to be level 15 on the list, but in Armory only 9. This will eventually straigthen itself out, at least that has happened so far

... and dead again. Mizu made it to level 20, and died from stupidity in Redridge. I'm never going there again. Next monk is last monk!

Redridge, Deathridge....
Monk is a good class for iron, but some would say it's too easy once you get to lvl 64 and healing sphere...

Well, if I keep on dying around level 20 in Deathridge, I'll never make it to 60 but health regeneration is sloooow after 20 .. so some healing would be appreciated.

The one time I ventured through Redridge (always skipping it every attempt as well until then), it also got me on the Chloroform questline. You can still do about half the zone safely, but I wouldn't be touching that area at 20, IMO.
Gotten used to Loch Modan lately so I'd recommend there or Bloodmyst Isle or Darkshore for the 10-15 or 15-20 zones.

I know, just I've been doing Bloodmyst and Darkshore soo much I can almost do it in my sleep Redridge is OK as a monk up until Bravo questline starts. It was 3 x level 16 elites (wolwes and overseer - bad luck) that killed me near the mill. Next time I'll try Loch Modan. It has a fair number of doable elites as well Thanks for the encouragements. Aonomizu is just now level 9.

Loch Modan is great, especially if you find the (many) rare spawns for easy exp, so long as they don't find you first (beware the cave of mechanostriders, the rare in there moves very quickly and will join in on your existing fight if you're already fighting ). Westfall is decent as well, but I avoid Redridge like the plague, it's just not worth the risk to me.

Yeah I hear you too in terms of doing zones one would not normally do and how you can get those surprises sometimes. The Mechanostrider cave was kind of fun though I've had one or two runs through where Optimo always loves to jog and join in whatever fight I'm in at the moment. But yeah, lots of rares, some chests around and those Dark Iron scrolls make for good exp too if you aren't too low level to get to them all.
Oh and yes, doing Bloodmyst in one's sleep, yeah I'll agree there too! It always surprises me though just how long that zone takes to do, even if far overleveled for it. I don't think I've ever managed Bloodmyst in less than 4 hours or so but as a melee it's kinda slow.

So so sorry to hear about Mizu again Dran. I bit the dust there in the past too and that quest is a pain. I have always done Redridge as an Iron - admittedly at level 22 (after the excellent Loch Modan) as the mobs there (as with Eastern Plaguelands) seem to hit a tad harder and are more sociable with their mates (ie. Adds) At least you can meet Shen-zin Su and save him again - best starting zone ever IMHO. Commiserations again and hope to see you soon.

GRRRRR! she died - on the very last Quet on the Isle. She did not even make it to the list (level 11) IRL disturbancies made me mis-push buttons. Now I'm going to try a draenei-monk I want to see if Gift of the Naaruu do a difference.
Mizuiro level 1 stands ready.
