RIP but it is also a little like real life, you may plan everything in your life, all it takes is a drunk driver to end it all (or other event you have no control over, like an earthquake). With irons, you can always reroll, when you feel like it. take some time off, and hope to see you back

Just now on my 26 worgen priest, I entered the castle area in Arathi Highlands where you usually grind for ravenholdt rep to do the two wanted qs. The place already have a bit of saltyness for me because this is where my bloodthirsty nelf warrior had died last time I attempted it because of evade bugging and a pat walking into me. These two horde players show up out of nowhere, and like an idiot I rush into the keep to get Otto and that other guy before the both of them. I did get to them first because of darkflight, but I didn't check their levels, and thus when the hordies check the room and turn around without killing them, I was left to fight these two on my own. I died before the first one died to my dot, my heals and disc shields unable to keep up.
Am extra salty because of that previous death on the bloodthirsty char, and I need a while to decide if I'm gonna delete or continue as tin man
ps, it was just 5 minutes after being added to a random guild..... which happened to be the one my 'theraphy char' (yes, i went there) is in
I... just realized... I forgot about Psychic Scream

Loved your 26 worgen priest story, I could relate to it. I've died in similar situations, with no one to blame but myself. I'll be clearing an area to get to a boss and up ahead is the boss, or a chest, or a rare. And there you see another player approaching, ready to ninja your objective with zero consideration. After a couple of those deaths, I've learned that the dude will respawn, and the rare and chest won't make much of a difference getting to 110...
But hard lessons, I still twitch when I see a chest up ahead, and its only guarded by 2 mobs and a pat... :- )

I've only died 4~ times on this challenge so far after a year of chars (I'm an altoholic and I delete a lot of irons because I'm just like that. Sue me) and 2 of them have been due to me blowing through a whole patrol of mobs in a hurry to get back to the quest objective even though I had nothing to be worried about. One was my 25 druid who blew through the ENTIRETY of the Stormgarde area because I didn't want to fight everything to get out of there. I learned my lesson and was soon a great meal for the Ogres of the residence.
Not recent, by far, but still pretty funny.

Just lost a monk at 63. It was my third monk iron, and 2nd to get above 60.
Was flying back to a quest hub in Hellfire when my mouse started flipping out and started clicking at completely random times. Unfortunately, it clicked my mount midair. And I fell. I didn't even try to stop it, I just accepted death for the solid 5 seconds I was falling.
Won't put a damper on my fourth monk attempt! Maybe this time I'll get past 70 (=
((update: just lost a priest at level 11 because of invisible mobs. Yay, bugs!)

Not a rage, but more of a silly brain derp. I started a death knight for the hell of it, and actually had a lot of fun going through the starter zone. That lv 1 rusted pitchfork was sooooo gamechanging xD
Anyway, got to lv 60 and I lacked 150g to get flying and explore all of outland, so I went to eastern plaguelands to quest and get some money while remaining lv 60. Then I got the idea to try and see how much money I would get from killing trash in stratholme! I died on the third pack. It was so sudden that I couldn't help bursting out in laughter

Late on posting but will to give other irons a heads up. I lost my 90 pally last week doing the three dailies by shrine of the 7 stars. Roll is still fine but when I went to do the gun turret one to shoot the bugs I got dismounted on approaching it and landed by the door of the room underneath. It's now packed with level 90 mobs and not enough guards to keep them engaged. Two on me right away, the Oh Cr@p meter went to high. Popped the 20% DPS reduction shield and 20% heal over 8 sec and proceeded with combat. Was mopping up the second one when three more spawned right in front of me. Oh Cr@p meter broke and backed up a bit and began to fight. Popped big 10 second shield and began to engage. I was thinking I might have a chance as I'm getting the first out of three when a fourth pops in. Heal, swat, heal, swat, heal, swat works until you run out of mana. They just kept coming.
That place is a room to avoid. In hind sight would have been better off popping the bubble and jumping off the wall. Hind sight is always 20/20 though.

I rarely do Howling Fjord leveling normally, so when I got to "The Echo of Ymiron" quest I took the quest item literally... "may only be used in Wyrmskull Village." Like... anywhere? Okay! Sure. Turns out, "anywhere" does mean anywhere, but it also means if you don't use it in the right place there will be an event where the Lich King speaks for a while and then flat out just murders you on the spot. Cool dialogue, but not worth dying at 73. Having not quested through all the zones post-60, I expected to die from inexperience at some point - but it's kind of irritating to not even die from proper mobs.

RIP 73 is a great effort though! Were you also doing the dailys at Isle Quel Danas? they will give you around 100k xp a day, so you can afford to pick and choose your more familiar quests in Northrend.

Yep, well aware of them and was thinking of doing them eventually. Borean Tundra I'm extremely familiar with and I was able to speed through that zone in about a day without any issues, so I didn't bother right away. I wasn't expecting quest #3 in the Fjord to be so problematic 5 levels higher than the actual zone but hey, live and learn.

The Midsummer festival has been harsh to my pacifists without professions. Have managed to get 2 kills, so will have to change them Irons or Tinman. The problem has been the zone wide buff that can't be removed Bonfire's Blessing. The buff has managed to kill twice. Luckily I have 6 more of them that I'm leveling.
