Now I've reached level 19. I've used 18 h 30 min. That's in fach rather quick I think. Only monk being less time consuming in my opinion. Dran, my level 15 Pally, has 15 h. 38 mins and my Mizu(11) at level 14 4 h 44 mins. I don't think Pacifist is so much worse a time sink than IMCpaladins. But I like the challenge - longing to be level 20 for RIDING!

oh that's lovely I must play really fast on my normal iron rogue toons; I just checked my level 18 rogue and she has 6hrs 45mins played. My level 29 iron pacifist was at 1 day 16 hours when she died. She had 2700 gold from auctions and probably another 300g or so unsold, so I'm figuring iron gathering makes about a thousand gold per 10 levels if you auction it; good for flying when needed. Both times I died at higher level was from pushing things too far in a risky zone; but it's pretty much the way I play so I can't see it changing if I make another toon. It's no fun any other way! And yes, riding is SO GOOD! Congrats again on reaching 20.

lol, just read your posts. Was never interested in this type of iron, but you guys are so funny that it's kinda making me want to do it. Has anyone made it yet? I leveled from 81 to 85 herbing/mining in cata launch. I did it to race to realm first jc on my main at the time, a pally. To do that, I had to max herb, mining, & alch. I farmed all the mats except for a few nightstone at the end, costing about 2k. I made it. Ream first jc on Shadowsong.
Good luck with your endeavors. But don't forget we may be running out of time as irons when the next xpac hits.

Maybe the pacifist way will be the only possible IMC-way after the new expansion. I'm still buggered that I did not make it realm first herbalist as Cata hit. I did not know that there was such a thing, I just love to pick flowers, and was herbing in Twilight Highlands as an announcement thatr soandso is realm first maxed herbalist crossed the screen. The next flower, I picked, maxed me. Had I know, I'd have been first! PS. Still love your musings

Just killed off my pacifist the stupidest way ever. jumped into that maelstrom in Darkshore to get ach. and died! Urgh! I am already at levbel 6 with the new one. Why do such things always happen just as you've got a new weapon, or in case of pacifist a dress?
ETA: Uh, oh I'm Dranina on another pc. Killed one Fredelig level 22 NE priest.

The Quest "It's raid nigth every nigth" Amberstill range Dun Moroghhttp://www.wowhead.com/quest=25932 is totally doable. Just stand back and watch. The raiders won't die, but give up, stealing the rams for you to retrieve.

Well, I'm not just a glutton for punishment but a giant fat foie gras goose.
I'm doing a strict ironman pacifist toon - regular ironman rules INCLUDING no professions, combined with no killing. The only ways to get xp are quests, exploration and treasure chests. I'm so used to pacifist now due to my previous dc problem it seemed *logical* to take it one step further. Playing as a belf on WrA, currently level 17, it doesn't feel too torturous. Yet.
Treasure chest hunting is interesting - I've found a few in Mulgore but they're currently giving 500 (unrested) xp. The one I found in Northern Barrens (I found my first one at a centaur camp, yay!) gave 1200. I have almost no income source, apart from quests and selling quest rewards, but hopefully the next lot of chests will start spitting out blues which I can sell. My few gold saved up have come from buying herbs from the guy next to the flighmaster in Crossroads and reselling them at the AH, just so I have enough for riding at level 20.

Oh wow, I can't imagine doing it with no professions as well as no killing, there's almost nothing outside of chests that's actually possible then. That'd be incredibly tough at high lvls, I'll be very interested to see how far you manage - good luck!

It's actually surprising how many quests are possible - I didn't actually have to start looking for chests until halfway through level 13. For those looking to do this challenge, I'll give a few tips, since I've done about 10 pacifist toons so far and I have a few tricks up my sleeve - Go to Wowhead and look at every single quest for the zone you're in, it might surprise you where there are hubs. I found a questgiver in Durotar I'd never seen before that had 3 'challenge' type quests, a good half a level right there. Ignore all the 'kill' ones and note the available level for the others. Sometimes quests only open up in a chain (this can be really annoying) but keep checking those yellow exclamation marks at higher levels, there's sometimes more available. As Horde, there was only one quest available in Silverpine Forest, everything else is a giant chain. I love that place but it's awful for pacifist - Do all the exploration in all zones you can without putting yourself near mobs 2 levels higher or at a danger level you can handle - I got to level 3 easily just doing this, it's actually quicker than herbing! The Ruins of Silvermoon area has a lot of explorable places that give xp, even though they don't count towards Explorer. Same with Echo Isles, each little spoke is 10xp and one is 45! At level 3 this really adds up. I imagine Alliance have a similar thing - there are a lot more little areas and zones that give xp than you think. I've searched and searched for a full list somewhere online but can't actually find one - If you're really stuck, go park yourself in an inn and save up that rested xp. Treasure chests are the only thing that will use it up, and they are rare as it is. Getting a giant xp hit off a fully rested chest find is a huge boost. - Try to plan where to go. My first toon spent about 90% of her time trudging from place to place looking for stuff to do. If you know a questgiver will have quests opening up at level 14, that's something to aim for, even if you have to park yourself and then go chest hunting for a bit. - I'm playing a rogue, but I think a druid could do this too. You need stealth and a low level cc for chests. It's pretty compulsory. Hope that helps!

Heh heh
Snuck through Westfall (as Horde), found the Razormaw Matriarch up, sapped and stole her egg. Pity they're worth next to nothing these days.
Another tip, if anyone wants to try this pacifist way, is to pick a server where you will be playing off peak. I'm on Wyrmrest Accord for this (usually I'm Oceanic) and the time difference means my prime playing time is 1am-7am server time. This is excellent for chest hunting on an otherwise high population server. I'd recommend an Oceanic server for this if you're playing from the US, Caelestrasz isn't merged and is medium population except at prime times in Aus. From Europe...well, just try to tweak a time zone difference so you have some time that's less populated for you.
I've gotten really stuck in the mid-upper 20's, most quests seem to be chained. So it's been chest hunting only for a while, plus the sunflower daily. I wasn't going to learn first aid at all as I'd have to buy the cloth but there's the 'Triage' quest at 35 and anything that gives xp is good.
I almost died in Ashenvale trying to get through the Felmusk Satyrs - avoid these guys at all costs! They can't be stealthed past as they give off some aura of stench (yuck) which puts a dot on you. And some of them are also stealthed just to make it extra amusing.

For timezones, in Europe all servers are the same timezone, and I think most servers have players from any/all possible timezones on them, those which are language specific are mainly used by people in the most central timezone! Quietest server is the one many of us use for ironman already: Earthen Ring; it's not crossrealmed at present, so I tend to be surprised if I actually see another player. We're next in line for connection, but it's on hold for the last month, long may that continue! Chests are fairly findable for me on ER, I make them a part of my daily routine at high lvls, checking spots I expect to find them, or where I may find a rare spawn, it's kinda rare for me not to find one, so there's clearly not a lot of competition Very impressed you've got so high, that must take a lot of patience

I finally died on my strict pacifist! Level 34 1/2, I'd call it misadventure. Just when I'd got Vanish and was feeling a little more comfortable.
Flew into Andorhal and looked for the chests there while avoiding the (horrible) mobs, which was fine. Then went past the Alliance dudes without realising, who didn't look any different to the other mobs. One, unfortunately, had 500k health and spotted me from a long distance (I was stealthed) and just smacked me before I had time to react in any way.
Really can't get up the enthusiasm to do it again... it's very rinse and repeat...quest to a certain point, chest hunt, repeat.
The challenge is now on for someone else to get past where I got to. Regular ironman rules BUT no killing allowed. Have fun!
