Since it is very daunting to a new Iron Man to see a thread with 24 pages, I thought I'd try to summarize important hazards for the Challenge in a google doc that anyone can access and add to. New thread because it would probably vanish in the other one. docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1kbA414HqQheNNNxllQw0JIlXi7b7KHkcYo7rnNOZKYM/edit?usp=sharingIf this is pointless, just let the thread die. If not, feel free to add / edit / delete (if you're sure a bug has been fixed, a mob / quest has been nerfed etc.) stuff. I'm not very experienced with google docs, so let me know if you can't edit it.

That is great, thank you very much! Much easier to get an at-a-aglance overview this way, the thread is great for more detail, but really too long and awkward to just quickly find stuff; this'll be very useful I think

Sweet furibundus. This is way easier than going thru pages of forum notes. I like the lvl layout, you can scroll down to where your at. It looks like I can edit but haven't played around with Google docs either. I think this might be a good one for Stone to add a permanent link to on his website. Can be a living doc and maybe save a few iron deaths.

I wouldn't mind adding something like this but... TIME.
I would also want this to be directly hosted on the site instead of something else where it's someone else's content. Videos are one thing but as far as guides, etc that we would post on the site, it would need to be hosted and maintained by us.
Overall, I would love to have a thread where the veterans can put together a list like this... finalize it based on current content so I can put it up on the site. Once an expansion review it if there are changes made to the older zones at all.

Is it bad that I put it together based on veteran's warnings and tipps instead of a veteran? It was really just meant as a starting point, to be added to and maintained by the community.
My intention was to not have one guy (that might lose interest after a few weeks) update a post, but have this available for everyone to take part in and keep it alive as long as it is of interest to the Iron Men.
I also wanted to see if it is of interest at all, then look into getting it to a more public / open space (don't know if a google doc always has to belong to a specific account with only one owner) or at least give a few Iron Wigs full rights - as far as I can see, I'm the only one right now who can rollback changes (which might come in handy if someone deletes the whole thing). So it's really not supposed to be "my" content, but the community's.

Not bad at all.
The community managers here should have the ability to create and edit a post. Don't we already have something like this... it's just scattered in that one thread.

... and honestly, I'm leary of content being hosted elsewhere that folks would actually use as it's subject to the whim of the host. The community was lucky that we could pick up the pieces of the old site and get control of these forums otherwise we'd have to basically start from scratch.
Please let me be more clear that I'm not saying you will up and ditch, however, I'm very much interested in keeping the content centralized where we know we're able to do what we need.
If you want to compile the info I can host it when you're done and will absolutely give you full credit for doing the legwork, otherwise, I'd prefer it being something where a Community Manager can host the thread and make modifications as needed until it's complete / ready for hosting.

Sure, I completely get that. The benefit of a google doc over a thread imo is that it's not scattered and everyone can add to it in a convenient, compact place. I find a spreadsheet is much more suited for this than a thread. I'd say that the chances of google suddenly shutting down their services in the next few years is pretty slim. I figured out how to transfer ownership of a document, so I'd only need the email address (should probably be a google account) of you or a community manager to do so and that person would be the only one able to delete it.

Which proves that other can indeed edit this document. I'm not an adept at google docs either, and I'm afraid I had some slight mishaps with the ... borders? ... edges? of the boxes in which you write. Some are black, which should not be and vice versa. Keep up the good work. Google won't desert us tomorrow

Have I missed something? Did The Ironman community have an different site before? What happened?

Just holler if you need help with anything, because that document you are working on can save a lot of research time for Ironman runs. Maybe we can make some sort of compendium of the aspects of Ironman that new participants can read to get a clear picture of The Ironman Challange? Or will that diminish the feeling of exploration when jumping into Ironman? Anyways, just wanted to pat you on the back for a job well done.

Something like this should NOT be opened up to the entire public. Where there is even one troll, you're going to find trouble.
If you folks want to do the legwork on this it would be GREATLY appreciated... once done, we can have it posted to the forums for review / comments and finally put up on the site. Folks that work on the information will get 100% full credit (as usual).
If you folks think you're actually done, let me know and I'll make a more general announcement requesting a review.

I'm not an adept at google docs either, and I'm afraid I had some slight mishaps with the ... borders? ... edges? of the boxes in which you write. Some are black, which should not be and vice versa. Looks good - just get the info in there somehow, borders etc. can always be cleaned up later by me or someone else. Something like this should NOT be opened up to the entire public. Where there is even one troll, you're going to find trouble. Sure, having a troll mess with it is kinda annoying, but as long as you have someone who can roll it back it shouldn't be too much of an issue. That's why I offered to have a trusted longtime challenger host it instead of me. If you folks want to do the legwork on this it would be GREATLY appreciated... once done, we can have it posted to the forums for review / comments and finally put up on the site. Going through the 24 pages of the original thread, I mostly did a quick copy&paste of the things that seemed relevant (no obsolote pre-stat squish dmg numbers, no repeats etc.) - I could go back in and clean it up a bit, rephrase / conform it to make it a bit more accessible. Then again, the whole thing is very subjective (and I certainly don't have the experience to evaluate every single point) and it's probably all gonna change with legion, so I don't think that it would really be worth it. I think it's fine if it stays right here until then, people who want to do some research for their challenge should be able to find it without too much trouble. So, on another note... I just lost a lvl 15 challenger to the only bugged quest in Silverpine Forest that is noted on the spreadsheet. Guess I should actually use it in the future.

I have a quest I think Ironman challengers should be wary of. Should I make an update to the spreadsheet myself, or is there another way we should recommend changes? During the Saving Foreman Oslow quest, the Ettin Control Orb did not function, and the Level 18 elite Ettin took me out pretty quick.
