Do they actually give XP? I've only used them on max level normal toons for tickets.

It kinda feels like cheating the system in that you're buying something you can't earn yourself. The AH is tricky. I use it now to hoard gold from selling gear drops. Most of that gold gets sent to a bank alt for the wow token since gold from quests pays for everything else I need (like flying). I used to buy gear, even mail CoD, but I've since decided to stop doing that as it started to feel wrong. But that's a personal choice. I'm still for not flagging untrackables as you can't prove what people do or don't do, BUT, like others have said...this is a personal challenge. I'd say the majority would frown on buying XP. I know I wouldn't feel good about it. I say don't do it, but it's up to you ultimately.

These are the type of issues opened up by allowing the AH, but the community has settled long ago that the AH is acceptable though so it is fair game.
There may be debate whether it goes against the spirit of the challenge (it does), but it has been established many times that the 'spirit' and the rules are two different animals.
So feel free to turn them in once per month if you have the gold to burn (yes it is repeatable monthly like the profession quests).

Buy what you want on the AH Herrena, if you are not in your own heart breaking any rules of your own integrity, then im sure you will feel good when you hit 100, good luck. Please keep in mind that this is his opinion only and his "interpretation" of the rules. Telling you to buy what you want on the AH feels like he's representing an "official" stance on the interpretation of the rules, which he is most certainly not. Brittle has much more experience with the challenge and has earned much more trust and respect.
I'm confident that his statements are unbiased and are actually about rule interpretation vs trying to make everything out to be a philosophical battle or trying to interpret rules in order to favour family members.
If you had put forth your opinion without having to bring this once again into a philosophical debate I wouldn't have had to respond.
Please stop.

Philosophizing - to speculate or theorize about fundamental or serious issues, especially in a tedious or pompous way. Harsh, but probably true. I like to think that im more realistic about debating things, but your probably right its does come across quite pompous, maybe its just a British thing. "Removes monocle, and sips his tea"

So in essence, it's not against the rules, but most people agree it is kinda bad form and wouldn't do it. That feels fair.

.... Its against your ethics and standards, if this was a first account would a person look for stuff on the AH, would a person have access to gold and the AH? Rules and personal ethics are different things, one should not get in the way of the other. The AH was how I made all my gold when I had my first character 11 years ago. There still is no better way to do it. The rules are the standards I go by. Personal ethics seem to be the things you try to force on others.
