So, I'm going to keep the jobs disabled as well as the Add / Update functionality until our EU friends come back online.
I'm a little afraid of the flags that will be going out once those jobs start up again.
There are two options that I can think of... if you can think of others please let me know.
1 - Keep the flag. We can be mad at Blizzard for this unannounced "feature". This is the easiest for my side but the hardest for the community as it will affect a few people. Seems like it's hitting classes that had weapons changed: Warrior, Hunter, Monk, DKs (maybe more). The thing is not everyone is having these weapons automatically equipped. Some are arriving by mail and that's it (which will not flag). So it's a little random currently.
2 - Add code to make an exception. This is doable... not the greatest thing for more exceptions to be made but it's definitely NOT difficult... so again... doable. The exception would be made to any character that is alive and NOT already red-flagged. Characters listed later will not have this exception made.
Thoughts?

Personally, I cant live with flags. I have deleted toons because of them. It's killing me that my ex-bt hunter is on the bt list as flagged. I changed her to a normal iron when I lost my 98.
My hunter weapon is being mailed, probably because it goes to a survival spec & not the bm spec, but my monk (dead iron) was automatically equipped.

My rogue Sepa-Wyrmrest Accord had a Brunnhildar weapon equipped. It was a white common when I equipped it; in post-patch it's an Uncommon green. My stats now show two Uncommon equips. Not sure what the other one is, though the shirt is registering as a green item.

Just my two cents. I don't have live irons affected by the weapons thing - my monks were dead already.
But I don't think it's right to make people live with a flag for something no one anticipated. I know it's not ideal to write exceptions - but in this case, I think we should.

Please, number 2. I've worked so hard for this, and have put in so many hours. To be red flagged now at level 90 because a bow that I was specifically told is OK has turned green would break my heart. I had no idea it was going to turn green, and once I found out (too late) I immediately logged in and unequipped it.

I don't think people should be red-flagged and lose maybe 3 or more days /played because someone at Blizzard is retarded. Obviously there should be some exception made, because Ironman should be about getting to max level without dying, not about being fucked by Blizzard randomly, which already happens enough with the stupid bugs that kill you for nothing. Personally I don't think I'm in this category, I have some white gun equipped right now, hopefully that hasn't changed, the armory still shows it white.
Hackers attacking Blizzard is not Blizzard's fault, is hacker's fault, so it's not the same shit as Blizzard intentionally changing ancient items colors or even equipping people with shit they've never asked for...
Anyway, I remember equipping once a green bow by mistake and I wasn't flagged, has that been changed?

Mosotti:
Yes, that was changed. At one time, if you equipped a green item, so long as you didnt long out, it wouldnt record. But now it does.

Make a moratorium in tracking so that everybody has a chance of logging in and removing the offensive weapons. EU is still not up and our slo-o-o-o-w connexion is still less than 10 % through the download, so I have no idea really. But to be red flagged bacause of Blizz's stupidity would indeed make me very angry and disappointed. EU armory is up. I checked out my IMCs. They will ALL be red flagged! I have totally not seen shirts became green I have those ! Sigh I hope you don't look to shirts slot. I love to look good ;( Oh and Warm Woolen Socks are green as well. Disaster! Look at this: eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/steamwheedle-cartel/Danni/advanced

I too agree about an exception being the best route - haven't finished the download and don't know if my characters are affected yet; whether they are or not doesn't matter so much for me as most my high lvls are dead anyway (though I'll be really annoyed if my 90 DK got screwed!), so a reroll won't hurt me as much as others, but I feel so bad for any higher lvl people who get flagged out of this, or indeed anyone at all. It's not something any of us could predict, certainly not a fault of any players, so I'd rather see an exception made and just go on trust that nobody affected would take advantage of the exception flag (I'm sure they wouldn't).
Edit: I got away with it, all my characters still wearing their old weapons, phew. But I still completely support exceptions for the unlucky ones; it's through no fault of theirs that this has happened.

Like the others, I think existing irons should have an exception
Xayaforsi lvl 100 pandaren hunter (alive) Wyrmrest Accord Xayathedruid lvl 21 night elf druid (alive) Wyrmrest Accord Xayapaci lvl 30 pacifist rogue gnome (alive) Wyrmrest Accord Xayahorde lvl 13 bloodelf rogue (alive) Wyrmrest Accord

From what i am seeing, if there is a way in the code, to tell everyone get your toons squared away, remove all the stuff we know is bad and not very Ironmanish from Mail, toon, AH whatever, and just block out the dates? of the 18th through something like the sunday after the patch in case some dont log in till the weekend, and the only thing watched for is something like death and other stuiff not related to slots, and see if there is a way to use time played verse number of levels gained to watch for people that abuse this and try to level with the gear... just a thought ...

I believe EU is now live with the Pre-Patch (at least from what I see on Twitter).
With some investigation, adding the exception code is going to be a bit trickier than I thought but still not too bad.
If you go look at Fckingyolo on Darkmoon Faire EU, the character has the green bow equipped, however, the Uncommon Items stat was not increased. I'm pretty sure this is because they haven't logged on the character yet.
I'll be looking at greens, blues and purples equipped as well now and adding an exception for the quantity of items or the stat... whichever is higher.
This will be a one-time deal only. Newly listed characters will not have this exception made.
I'll let you all know when I'm closer to being ready to execute the code.

Starting to think a better solution to all this is to just 'retire' all characters made prior to the Legion pre-patch and have a 'new' leaderboard as the changes to the challenge are huge on several different levels. Even if someone is 80+ right now they will not be doing the same challenge someone else hit 100 before on.
Honestly I think we as a community should have decided long ago on a fresh leader board with each new expansion much the way Blizzard does Seasons in games like Diablo. Too many changes always occur and this expansion is turning out to be the granddaddy of them all in that regard.

I'm sure it's easy to consider "just retire all characters" a "solution" when you don't have a level 90 that you've been working on for months. I think it's a horrible suggestion. I don't know about anyone else, but I'm finding the changes disorientating and frightening. I have to now relearn my whole character at this level. On an Iron. Oh and hey, look at that, ice trap, one of my most essential survival tools, has been taken away from me. Plus my bow because suddenly they've decided to make it green. Oh and there's already been reports of glitches that sound pretty deadly, like ships bugging out. I'm supposed to navigate this while handling Pandaria and Draenor? FUN.
