" Do not forget what you have learned, Wolfianna. Our combined experience is a lot to remember." Wolfiron eyed the new recruit, squishy as a pollywog, wondering why the spirit had chosen this one. Seemed a bit...shy.
"yes ma'am. Will I...remember all this when I become ...that person?" She blinked with wide puppy like eyes.
Pupdog snorted. "By gods, I sure hope so. What are the rules of Iron, Anna?"
She wrung her hands. "Uh, caution. Always look around. Watch for patrols. Be more careful than you should have to be. Never go out without a good breakfast and strong tea. Never stay at it until you are too tired. Get a bed at an inn to rest..Damn the Forsaken...uh who are they again?"
Pupdog rolled her eyes. Wolfiron repeated patiently. "Our enemy. You will see why."
Anna nodded nervously. "Ok, sure, right. Uh, never drink anything toxic, never trust any potions given to you. Take no gifts, but give freely. Beware of the lure of magical items, and refuse all enchanted weapons. We are Iron, we have no need, except for our inner strength."
"Good, good."
"Why me? I'm just a nobody. A milkmaid. I take care of the Crowley cows." Anna asked quietly.
All eyes turned to the Spirit, who had been a quiet observer in the corner, sipping a cup of tea. "You died. Stomped on by a bull. Crushed. But I see a gentleness and determination in your spirit that can temper Wolfirons stubbornness and Pupdog's rashness." She sipped at her brew. "You will know what they know, and be strong."
Anna nodded, looking at the floor. "I will do my best."
"That's all we ask."

Lessons, lessons...
I trained today. Hard. I learned to stealth, and pickpocket. Hmm, kinda fun picking the pockets of those ogres, but boy they sure do smell. Gotta remember to stay upwind, these worgen senses are very acute.
It has been interesting, as I have knowledge from Wolfiron and Pupdog. I make sure I am stronger than they were, more trained. Craftier. I love the worgen form, but sometimes the blood does boil. I have to keep from chasing squirrels or eating rabbits, wastes too much time (although it is rather fun.)
In my other life I had only met Darius Crowley a few times before the Rebellion, but boy to I admire the man now. He fought worgen off with his bare hands! Wow. I hope that he is still alive after Duskhaven sunk.
I have learned to use my throwing knives and crossbow effectively, to distract an enemy from a group. I am rather enjoying the history lesson in progress, for someday, like tomorrow, it will all be history. My goal is to make it through alive, then I will be the teacher. though you never stop learning.
Pupdog told me of Darnassus, the Elven city, so that is my goal...

A missive came today from the Sisters of the Cloak. Not good. Us rogues, both Alliance and Horde, have our own Orders, often secret, but news travels fast through our networks.
Hemeferrous had passed. Little details were enclosed, except a dire warning. Be prepared before Outlands.
Well, I don't think I have to worry about that yet. I'm stuffing bearguts into some crazy gnome apparatus in Darkshore. I do smell the whiff of Forsaken and their plague arts in this place, and I plan to hunt it out.
Darius Crowley has vowed to get Gilneas back and stayed behind in Keel Harbor. He is a great man, and even greater worgen. He will destroy the Forsaken who dare cross his path. So I will follow his example and do the same.
I kept my human form in Darnassus as not to draw attention. The Night Elves are a bit distant but are used to shape changers as they have druids running about their city. Still, I wanted to keep a low profile as I hunted out the tradesmen I needed to upgrade my gear. And I waited for contact from the Sisters.
Such horrible news...a new lesson? You are never too old and too experienced to die...I bow my head in your honor Heme, and vow to be extra, extra careful...

"Ack! What are you doing here, Wolfianna!?"
"Big. INVISIBLE. Kitty."
Wolfiron looked shocked. "Here sit. Have some tea."
"You made Darkshore, I'm guessing?"
"Yes. I ran. Right into other kitties. Stupid Night Elves and those stag-tree creature people. Plucking the whiskers from moon kitties while they are sleeping?! Oh, and don't kill them, too. Pah! They are cats! I'm a wolf. I hate cats! And they try to kill you! I would too if some moron plucked my whiskers while I was sleeping! Just to save some guys bear pet? I'm supposed to die for THAT?"
"The Night Elves are kinda--"
"Tree huggers! Cat lovers! Oh let's hug the squirrels too, don't eat them. Eat leaves and twigs. I'm not going back there. I'm going to stay with Darius Crowley and kill some undead."
"Drink some tea. You aren't going back..not yet anyway. You need a cooldown time. And a bit of regrouping. Too bad you can't go assist the blood elves, they have lots of undead...but they are sort of a prissy lot..."
"And gnomes, ugh..stuffing rotten bear guts into contraptions..I could smell that Forsaken without ripping up a bunch of bears..Oh man, I think I do need a break..."
((Wolfianna died as she ran right into the rare moonsaber kitty who happened to be stealthed..I didn't even catch its name...Made me a bit angry as I just got to 15...you can have your rares Ironmikey, I can't even make it to 20..))

I shined my boots.
I practiced my stealth.
I sharpened my dagger and my axe.
I am ready.
Bring it on.

The Battle for Gilneas is lost. I can replay it again and again...it is still lost.
No lessons learned there..oh yes, one important one..don't drop your torch in the tunnel to the cemetary. The rats...hurt.
I am again in Darnassus. I am tired and will rest before attacking the work in Darkshore ...again. But I find I haven't heard from anyone else..
It is hard to get missives across the faction lines, but it just seems too quiet...
((Wolfianna made 12. Everyone else bit the dust today...it was a good day to die, I guess. ))

"Ack! Not again! Wolfianna!"
"I was just exploring, dammit." I looked at Wolfiron and the calm spirit. "You got anything stronger than that tea? I need a drink."
Wolfiron handed me a bottle of Mulgore Firewater. I chugged a gulp and coughed. Wow. "Ok, I was running about exploring Teldrassil..what could go wrong? A few small spiders attacked, couple of those swamp thingys, but no sweat. Figured I'd see the sights. So green and pretty next to Gilneas. How would I know it was Furblog Festival Week and they all like frenzy..."
Wolfiron's eyes widened. "You are kidding, right? No? Gods..."
"Zillions of 'em. Couldn't run fast enough..."
The spirit tsked and crossed her arms, sitting back in her chair. "And the lesson is...?"
"Make sure you have a tourist visa before exploring. And a fast vehicle for escape. Stick to the road, forget the easy experience..it can be deadly.."
((Wolfianna made 13, went to explore Teldrassil, ran into a billion frenzied furblogs near their cave,, and promptly expired..no more exploring for this rogue...))

Crumpled Missive found blowing about the wastelands of Gilneas...
The rogue known as Wolfianna who was a Sister of the Howl and of the Cloak, she who was of the Iron, has been found dead in her fight against the Forsaken.
Her body was removed to the church in Emberstone Village where a decision has been made to revive her, so she can continue her fight.
We hope this missive reaches the proper persons of the Order of the Iron to inform them of the loss of Wolfianna to their ranks.
((after like 400 restarts of this rogue, and dying not just to stupidity, but to some bad luck, and that whole "not getting out of combat" thing (can't stealth or recover)..Wolfianna will continue on but not as a challenger anymore. Can't say it was always fun, not sure if I learned any "lessons" *except that i kinda suck at this* It gets too frustrating to see people breeze to 20 when I can't stumble to 12...))
