I can't see anything in the rules saying you are not allowed, it can't be tracked, so therefore not enforced. Comes down to your own personal morals and ethical values. It is a personal challenge. Have fun.

Cannot find a definitive answer ... are Bright Baubles and other Lures allow or not? The definitive answer is very clearly stated for those that care to look ... and the Shiny Bauble indicates to my eye a very definite buff: I have asked for direction to what rule allows for other buffs as well, and no one has come forward with any defense of using such items, but some have come forward against, but there seems to be continued belief in or support for allowance of such items. Until I see a reference to the rules where such items are allowed, I don't see how their use can be defended. In fact, aside from ordinary food or drink, I can't off the top of my head think of any item that should be allowed (engineering items for example). It has been stated that they can not be tracked, so their use will not disqualify you, but seems a clear blatant violation to me. Some might argue that there is ambiguity in the Letter of the Law on this topic, but even if there is, the Spirit of the Law is obvious to me.

Using those won't really help lvl gain xp, and they sure won't save your life. SO even if allowed, I don't see the point of using them, except reduce your played time

And that thing there should make them allowed. It's just convenience. Like a heirloom mount is.

Revisiting this question since Pyxsee just got red-flagged for logging out with a fishing pole equipped and a shiny baubble used. Wasn't it decided that fishing lures were allowed and just not the special non-white fishing poles?

Wasn't it decided that fishing lures were allowed and just not the special non-white fishing poles? often the API is not too specific, especially since the API was all redone by Blizz a few weeks ago. If all we can see is an enchant was applied, it can be complicated to check other stats to be sure the toon is legit (not even sure we could) I'd refrain from using that, maybe it is trackable now despite what Margothon said a few years ago
