I was playing this afternoon, chilling in Dustwallow Marsh with 3 guildies in gchat. These are good players, have leveled challengers to at least 20 previously, not people just starting out.
The three of them died within about 7 mins of each other (you know who you are!). One said he was bored and pulled too many mobs, one was fighting a mob when a second mob snuck up behind him. Not sure what happened with the third. The toons were levels 20, 17 and 7.
Please remember that you may be a bit bored in some zones. You may feel your attention slipping at times. That's when it's time to AFK (in a safe area) and grab a coffee or another beverage, take a walk, throw a load of laundry in the dryer, or anything that gets you out of your stupor.
Remember that your mental state is all that is between you and death. Have fun and stay safe!

The main problem with the low level zones is you underestimate them. There are quite some low level quests that can kill you easily, as well as mobs (mostly humanoids that run away).
The real problem starts later. 40+ starts the hard part, especially as you get the last white gear at 45, with some minor exceptions at 70.

I was that 3rd one and I am not ashamed ;D I underestimated some frostman trolls, and you know how that story ends I knew i shoulda bought holy light Edit: After going back to see why i pulled three when there was only one in the area i realised that these lil buggers bounce off the walls and come at you out of nowhere, So i will avoid that quest from now on

I am playing a ranged dps class and treat every pull as if the mob touches me, I will be one shot. It helps plan out the pulls and survey the surrounding land. I am only up to level 23, but this method has helped a lot.

Yep. The best thing you can do is not rush yourself. The more you rush, the higher chance of finding your being killed. Patience is key with this.
I know on my personal experience, I am pulling up old MMORPG traits I picked up from back in the very, very old days of EverQuest and back way when in FFXI (when mobs would chase you across the entire zone if they found you).
