This is one of my first forays into writing lore/roleplay, so please be gentle I'm also aware that I like to waffle on a lot...
This story starts off from the memorial service that was held for my first character Liliyan, and introduces her father and younger sister Liliyane. I hope you enjoy, and I will try to continue writing Liliyane's story as her journey progesses.

Liliyane's Journey - The Beginning
The memorial service for Liliyan was held early on a Friday morning, just as the sun was rising. Several people made the early morning trek to Azure Watch, their minds clouded with sadness for the spirited young draenei’s passing. “She was only 34,” some whispered as they travelled together, “Still so very young. Poor Jhaidur having to put a daughter to rest, and so soon after his wife...”
“She always said that this was her favourite part of the day,” said Liliyan’s father Jhaidur, standing on the hilltop that faced towards the Exodar, the morning rays of the sun making the crystals glow. “Instead of being in bed at this time of morning as a child; she would normally be found swaying in the top branches of a tree in the breeze, chasing butterflies, or ducking and weaving through the hillside pretending to fight in a battle against the ‘big green orcsies’ that were often spoke of in her bedtime stories...” He frequently paused, swallowing hard and struggling to keep some form of composure whilst reading the hand-written eulogy. “May her soul rest in peace and her spirit remain strong within us all. Farewell my beloved daughter, I hope that you find happiness in the afterlife with our Sveliana.” His sorrowful words made the hearts of those present ache, and many a tear was wiped away.
Sveliana had succumbed to illness only a matter of months previously; and the pain of Liliyan’s spirit being laid to rest next to that of her mother was almost too much for them to bear. There was now yet another empty place in Jhaidur and Liliyane’s heavy hearts, and whilst the local draenei were always there to offer a pat on the back or reassuring squeeze of the shoulder as time passed, they both could not help but feel it would be best for them to depart Azuremyst Isle with its unhappy memories.
After many months of preparations and saying farewell to friends and family in the Isles, they boarded the ship at Lor’Danel and headed towards the city of Stormwind in the far Eastern Kingdoms to start life afresh.
They travelled over the seas for what felt like weeks. Upon arriving in Stormwind, they headed for the cottage and small area of land they had purchased within the city walls. They spent some days making new acquaintances and friends, and learning to navigate their way around the busy capital; and Jhaidur then decided that it was time to offer his services to the city and start making a living. Due to his reputation as a master hunter in Kalimdor, Jhaidur was asked by Wulf Hansreim (one of the finest hunter trainers in the kingdom) to be a mentor for some of his fledgeling hunters. Jhaidur accepted the position, and quickly found that he enjoyed teaching the younglings and honing their skills. Despite a few bad apples, most of his students were eager to learn and still came to visit their mentor after their training was complete.
Before they knew it, a year had passed. Liliyane was glad to see her father smiling again, and knew that he would never be wanting for company with all these students constantly stopping by for a meal and chat. Wulf was also a familiar presence in their home, as he and her father had become steadfast friends during the past twelve months. Liliyane adored her father, but her spirit had become restless and wanted to see the world. Not even the disciplined hunter training which she thrived on could stop the dreams of adventures, taming wild beasts and riding horses across desert plains. She decided that it was now the right time to tell him of her plans to leave Stormwind, and hoped that he would understand.
A few weeks later they stood outside the door of the cottage, Jhaidur brushed the hair from Liliyane’s face and said, “You remind me so much of your mother and your sister,” as tears welled in his eyes. “Both Wulf and I can see such strength and determination within you, and know that you will be able to do much good in this world. Promise that you will write whenever you can and always keep up your training, it is a dangerous world out there.”
Liliyane wiped the tears from her own eyes and gave her father a long embrace. “I will miss you dearly Father, but will send word to you often. I will do you all proud.” Having a second thought, a small smile appeared on her face, “Also, try not to let the boys play too many pranks and yourself and Wulf. I took down a bucket of water from the top of the stable door just this morning.” Jhaidur laughed, and mumbled something about setting something up for ‘those little whipper-snappers’ before giving his daughter a kiss on the cheek. “Stay safe my daughter.”
Giving her father one last hug, Liliyane waved goodbye and set off for Elwynn Forest.
