To the Elders Of the WinterFeather Clan,
John here, I have done as I was instructed And have traveled to Dun Mogorh. I am amazed To see the troubles that have come over the other clans. I stopped at the inn at Kharanos to pick up supplies and learn first aid, and imediatly was asked for help.
Quarter Master Glynna Asked me to recoer Supplies that the local wendigo have stolen from them. She metioned that they hide within the Grizzled den. So I went over there to retrieve the stolen items, and I realized why no one else has tried to get them back. They live in a cave. So after thinking on it for a bit I found that the best solution was to clear a wide path and Have Winnie (my bear) hold them off while I dispatched them. I managed to get the supplies easily enough, but at the back of the cave was one of the wendigo's leaders.
A magnificent beast that goes by the name Edan the Howler. I looked at Winnie and I could see that she had locked eyes with the beast. And I knew at that moment that she wanted a good fight. So I drew back my bow and fired a shot, hitting the beast in the shoulder. Winnie charged in and bit him as hard as she could. He imediatly turned his focus on her and started pummeling her. I saw my oppertunity and opened fire again. It took several shots and almost cost winnie her life but we managed to slay the beast. As a reward I found a bag and some food stuffs on his corpse. I returned the supplies to the village and they were very gratful and offered me a pint. Which as anyother Winterfeather would do I very humbley accepted and enjoyed every last drop.
As I was about too leave one of the villagers told me that they were having issues with trolls in the area. He told me to talk to Slamp Wobblecog. And sure enough they have a large troll problem. I had to go to the new troll village and clean it up. My target, their leader. A large troll named Battok the Bezerker. I crept up hill near the village and I coul see him surrounded by his warriors dancing as if he didnt have a care in the world. I picked off his guards hoping that he wouldnt notice. And sure enough he didnt. Once i had him all alone I drew back my bow and let loose a powerful steady shot. When it hit you could tell he was very angry with me. He ran right past Winnie, and got so close to me I could see how bloodshot his eyes were. I pulled my sword out and struck him, which only angered him more. I managed to turn and get just enough distance to fire off a shot that dazed the troll and was able to put some distance between us. But then to my supirse he transformed into this massive beast and charged me. It took every bit of skill and alot of help from Winnie but I managed to kill him with out any dire injuries.
Once I told the gnome that i had solved his problem, he told me that this village is only part of the problem. He told me that I was need at Ambstill Ranch and that I should go there NOW!
So I ran to amberstill ranch. As soon as I got there I noticed that the ranchers were ready for a fight. As soon as I turned around To my suprise there was a bunch of trolls Riding the Ambstills rams. After we fought them off I was told they needed my help recovering the rams. So I went to the fields to go and find them. As I was gathering the rams I was ambushed. By two trolls and a wild bear. I found the very quickly Winnie was overwhelmed by the amount of emenies she was facing I drew my bow fast and dispatched the first troll. The wild bear Had turned his attention to me during this time, so I switched my focus to him. I had to run and fire my bow which I admit Im not as good as Elder Frostbeard. I missed More than a fiar number of shots and had to rely on my sword to kill the beast. Winnie had taken care of the other troll on her own but had been hurt badly in the process. I bandaged her up and feed her some fish and we returned to the ranch.
Upon returning the Ranchers were so happy that I had helped them that they offered me Ale a hot meal and A bed for the night.
As I finish this letter and my pint, I look at Winnie as she sleeps all cozzied up by the fire and think about how lucky I am to have her as a friend and fiercely protective guardian.
And just know that this son of the Winterfeather I learning alot in his travels and I repesent the Clan with pride.
