I realise no grouping to get help from anyone. But can a mage group to give/sell someone a portal if asked?

Generally speaking, since the iron challenge is a solo (no help) kind of activity, it is discouraged. The hard rule is no grouping / joining parties. Kindof like being a healer. It is tempting when you come across a situation where you want to be a nice player and toss a heal or two to a stranger in distress. But that can bite you, challengers have died when the stranger dies and the mob then focuses on you. So it is easier to explain - don't get help from others, don't toss out help to others. Yes, they will think you're a snarky son-of-a-gun.
Make sense? As a frequent rogue, I get asked now and then to pick a locked box. I'll say sure, but no tipping.

They used to track it, and you would get flagged for ports and/or warlock summons. I think they stopped, but it bit me a couple of times before.

Blizz made some changes to the API and we know we have problems tracking stuff. There is data available and as soon as the code teams as time to correct them, everything will be tracked again
