Almost called it "high XP density zones" - meaning, for the easiest or least amount of effort that yields a lot of XP... I myself know the Alliance side of it, but here are my favorites for my challengers:
- Badlands. An easy 2 levels for a short amount of work. And you get some uber cool Safety Glasses that you can wear. And the BLAM Turrets are fun. After you get over to Dragon's Mouth, do a few video quests, and the XP points rack up. And let's be honest, thumping goats off the cliffs is almost as fun as a Bar Fight.
- Loch Modan. I always go over in the early teens, and gather up all 6 Loch Modan "document" quests, and save them. I don't cash them in till I ding 29, then turning them in is an instant level 30. While there also grab some idols, kill a bunch of rares while you're still young enough. Either way, easy XP.
- Dustwallow. Catch the boat over to Theramore, make fun of some deserter guards, go explore the ruins, and get a couple of levels of XP.
Honorable Mention:
- Duskwood - when you get there, a few quests are easy, like talking to some old man in Begger's Haunt, giving Mary the Ghost a comb, looking at a mound of dirt, and a few others. I stay away from Rotting Orchard due to the invisible mobs.
- Hillsbrad Foothills - a long trek for sure to get to the daily Plants vs. Zombies quest, but just doing the 5 quests leading up to it is an easy level. Might want to wait till you have flight, otherwise, be prepared to weave around mobs on the ground to get there.
What's your favorite zones for fast or easy XP?

Pandaria - as soon as I can fly at 30, I go there (on Chromie time) - and go to Half Hill in the Valley of the Four Winds to start my farm and start doing the Tillers' dailies. I avoid the ones up in the hozen village, but depending on class, a lot of the others are doable. Also a great place for pacifists. Non-pacifists can also do the chain to open up the Cloud Serpent dailies over in the Arboretum in Jade Forest. Tip: the guardian cloud serpents will help kill the mobs for the quests where you need to kill 8 of them. Obviously not paci friendly, sadly.
For pacifists, one of my favorite gathering zones is Dreamer's Rest in Feralas. You can tailor your route to either include or avoid the sections around the lake where there are whelps (i.e. if you're a rogue go ahead and sap them). Both ore and herbs respawn very quickly.

at 30, I get flight and go get almost all of WoD treasures. Some are tricky, but you can get almost to 40 with exploration xp, while earning a few k gold. Of course no fp 'scouting mao' for that zone now
