Hehe! I can still feel my fingers tingling!
Well, it was quite an adventure coming down to the Wetlands, let me tell you! Along the way, there were two dwarves who found themselves quite in a conundrum: a casket of their finest ale for the survey team had been stolen! Seeing that they had to make sure that the roads were safe, they had me go and try to retrieve the ale for them.
Let me tell you, the orcs are a tough lot! Not only do they roar, and stomp and swing their axes around crazily, these also breathe fire! Or, at the very least, pretty adept with fire magic and they just like to shout garbled nonsense when they're using it... but I digress! With so many of them, it wasn't too hard to imagine how they got the casket stolen in the first place.
They had it stored away in what looked like an old dwarven fort. Looked like they got all nice and comfy because it stunk like high hell with all the raw meat and gosh knows what else! As I neared the stop, I heard some heavy stomping. Orcs are big fellows, but this guy sounded like he was decked in armor! I thought I was being quiet and sneaky-like, but maybe I kicked a pebble or something, because the next thing I knew, I was rushing down the stairs and out of the fort by a well-armored orc!
Unlike the other orcs, this one seemed to be smart enough to wear protection. And he kept rushing and leaping at me too with his fire magic every time I attempted to get away from him! Talk about being awfully persistent! Eventually, I was able to wear him down, but I was getting exhausted too—dodging those big swings by a hair takes a lot out of you and that orc fire magic thing isn't anything to sneeze at either!
He could see we were both exhausted and at our limits, so he gave a ferocious roar and made one final charge! Lucky for me, I had a few tricks left as I was able to freeze him in place. As he begun to swing his weapon, blink! I vanished! One fireball later, the big brute finally fell down!
I think I must've scarred off the other orcs with that, because there weren't many left once I gathered myself up and trudged back in for the casket. The mountaineers seemed to be pretty shocked that I came back with their casket—maybe they didn't think I'd make it? Still, they paid me pretty well for my troubles!
The rest of the trip wasn't quite as eventful as that, but with so much work to be done to clean up the Wetlands, I'm sure there'll be another exciting tale to pen down soon enough!
