Some of you may have heard of this before, some of you new to IM may not. There is another alternative challenge that can be tacked on top of the typical No Gear, No Buffs, No Deaths challenge of the Iron Man.
[shadow=red,left,300][glow=red,2,300]The Cartman Title: NO QUESTS!!![/glow][/shadow]
If you thought things were difficult enough, try throwing this twist to your leveling. XP can only be gained through killing mobs and NPCs. Not only does this make leveling more of a challenge, but it will also make gaining gold and gear to vendor more difficult. I will be trying to level under the mantra inspired by Eric Cartman on the South Park episode "Make Love, not Warcraft!" Check back for updates on how things are going.

I like the sound of that! I'm going to try it with my new char Gunnes, lvl 1 Warrior, on Nagrand.

Not only does this make leveling more of a challenge, but it will also make gaining gold and gear to vendor more difficult. Considering you'll be looting quite a bit more trash grays, coin, and random greens, I'd say you probably won't have much if any disadvantage for earning gold. Granted, you'll need bigger bags to carry it around.

This rule would disqualify goblin characters at least, and I don't know about worgen. At least they start on the mainland. Goblins have to complete the noob zone quests just to get to the rest of the world.

While I agree with other's that this would make the leveling process longer, I don't think it would make things tougher in fact I think the opposite is true. Quests force you to take on mobs / be in places you would not want to be. For example most iron men if given the choice would choose not to enter sunken boats filled with murlocks but quests can force you to do just that.
