I was trying to get back into this but I just ended up killing my shaman after about 20 minutes. I'm thinking I should roll another ironman to play so I can warm up before attempting my warrior. Does that mean that you want to roll an ironman-warrior, but first warm up playing another class? If yes, why don't you roll the warrior and one to spare for warm up exercises? Just my 5 cents

So I killed off my goblin shaman tonight.. just hit 10 (ooo) and got tangled up in a mess in the slave mine...the patrolling warlock respawns too fast...but that said, I am not going to level any more Ironmen, as I have tortured them with my incompetence in so many ways..I have been in this since the start, back in January, and have not gotten anything, save the hunter, past 18...the hunter is boring for me, my main is a hunter. Boring is not good for an Ironman..I am just not a very good player, and it makes me die a bit when I see people zoom to 40, 50, 60.( or even 30)..and I'm starting again. I'm sick of the starting areas, and when I do have a good run in, that rare occurance, something or somebody in the exterior world butts in and causes death..I will be updating on my website, but that is all. When something becomes no fun, you must step away and give it up. I've seen this thing go big, then throttle down to a small and steady group..you people remember that you are good players, and people like me envy that (it took me 6 years to level my hunter..I am a game retard) Hey, I did my first pet battle on beta and killed off Mr. Chilly..so I'm going to dabble with beta, maybe joust with my main (I kinda suck at that, too) or go back to playing some Skyrim or the Secret World..I do still have my rogue, and a couple of others, oh and the hunter, but officially the Rusty Cartel is done..

Arghhh - the curse of RL interfering. I don't know what is worse, a DC or a spouse that doesn't understand the lack of 'Pause Mode'
Sorry to see you go Rusty. Even if we do level like rockets sometimes, it all goes horribly west for most of us eventually.
See you on the re-roll - hopefully - otherwise we'll come and hunt down your pet in the MoP beta ! *grins*

Shame to see you go Rusty To Dranina, what I mean is that I had 2 living irons, a level 30 warrior and a level 13 shaman (who got to 14 before dying). I don't want to risk the warrior any time soon or I'm sure I'll kill him off too. Though reading your post again, I think you may have an idea there. I could have a go on my old warrior, as I think he's 28 and still on my account.

Garginox got my ironman #3 this morning in EPL. Dead at 47. He's the big lumbering elite in the NE section of the zone with a ton of HP. While doing some quests up there with the two "helpers" from the caravan (the dwarf and the blood elf), I underestimated his aggro range. Here's exactly how it went down, and something about shadowmeld, too:
- While fighting some other quest mobs, I kept an eye on this guy, who patrols around the camp. - His walk is unusually / deceptively fast - I was able to kill a quest mob as he approached and then ran out of the way - however, my "helpers" did not. They aggroed him. - I knew I couldn't fight him, so I popped off shadowmeld and watched them quickly die - He then turned to me (shadowmelded), and two- or three-shot me. It was over quickly.
Some learning points here. For whatever reason the first time I did this quest, on the last warrior, I didn't have these two NPC helpers. I think I did these quests backwards. They definitely were the problem here, as they had aggroed other mobs along the way as well.
Also, and probably the take-home point here (which should have been obvious to me by now), if something has aggro on NPC pets, I've noticed that shadowmeld won't work. I need to learn to be more disciplined next time and meld after I take aggro. I did it too soon this time.
Arrrrrrgh.

R.I.P. Froz. Would you please stop dying? Only if you come back and chide me for taking risks!

I never wanted to write another of these posts.
I'm devastated. I lost Feryllydria this morning, 70% of the way to 81.
I blame myself. She attempted a rare spawn in Sholazar. King Krush... lvl 75, and green to her at 80. He fears and her shadowmeld didn't hold. He one-shotted her. She'd killed another rare in Northrend, so I foolishly thought it would be possible.
I don't think I can do this again. I'd been scouting ahead on Feryllys... I might continue on with one or both of them just to see what lies ahead, but I don't know.

I'm devastated. I lost Feryllydria this morning, 70% of the way to 81. I am so sorry Feryl. We were all cheering for you so hard on WrA! How you levelled two druids side by side took enormous patience. This makes me very sad... RIP Feryllydria.

I am terribly sorry about that. Just chatting with you and hearing your experiences have been a big help to Fev. Do what you need to do, but I hope we'll be hearing from you some more.

Oh, Feryl, no! not you! I just knew you would make it! I'm so, so, so sorry to hear this. R.I.P. I'm sure that's a huge blow to you. Take a break and re-evaluate after that time off.
