I died at 78, while doing a quest in Wintergard mausoleum. That quest is a pain on a hunter, a killer for almost any other class... Northrend whitout flight is really doable. Northrend is usually easier than Outlands, and the fact that you can't fly doesn't change that. Since you can't fly, the order of quests will change if you want to minimize traveling. Since there is no vendor gear at that lvl, hardcore don't make a difference in the difficulty of any fights, but you'll have a lot more of them. I've tried it, and went higher than I expected. However this will be my last try with no flight and no flight path. It doesn't had a lot more challenge, but mostly add a lot of traveling time Edit: I went to Outlands and I could fly, even if I never learned flying from the flight master

Just started an Iron Paladin.
Can't be any worse than Warrior.

I'd rather sever a limb than do that. Good luck.

Also not sure why you can't sell anything as we don't use gold for stuff anyway. I'm not tossing away quest rewards with a monetary value. Maybe it's the Aussie in me, but bugger that. I remember needing to get to level 40 for a mount and I couldn't get it as I didn't have enough gold for another 2 levels. I like gold, and not having to run everywhere. I LIKE IT. There's no one monitoring this, it's just a personal challenge so do whatever you want. The idea is to run the game with the most minimal resources possible. Don't see what being Australian has to do with that, lol.

Currently level 22 so I haven't hit any roadblocks yet, but I did get a quest that had me run from Sentinel Hill in Westfall to Stormwind to talk to Varian, then run back to Sentinel Hill, then directly after got a quest that had me run to Redridge. Ate up a good 30 minutes. Would have taken maybe 5 had I been using flight. It definitely makes you appreciate the expansiveness of the world though. All the flying and instant ports can make it feel a bit small at times.

Dying in the 90s would really piss me off.

Ah forgot about flying mounts. Nah, ground mounts only. That's a big one actually, thanks for reminding me You got it right regarding non-mandatory flight paths. Basically, if there's no way to get there on foot or by boat/plane/whatever, it's ok to use. Not necessary to try to outswim fatigue.

First Aid is allowed.
EDIT: On second thought, food and water can be bought from vendors. Certain classes would be hindered to the point of being unplayable otherwise.
No problem with guilds. You get +10% mount speed but whatever. Social aspect is important.

Hah, not using mounts/flight paths would make things interesting. Would definitely make the world/experience feel more expansive and add to the survival aspect of the whole thing. That said, I doubt I'd have the patience for it.

Then feel free to cut yourself off from those things if you don't like em, no one's stopping you. Surviving in white gear and no spec/talents is already ridiculously hard and are the only IMC rules I really care about. All the other stuff is pretty inconsequential and not worth fretting over.

Shield Charge is useless for us as it requires the level 100 Gladiator Stance talent.
Only level 16 on a new Warrior and it's already pretty torturous. Charge > Heroic Strike/Victory Rush is all we get. Coupled with very, very slow rage regen and barely any utility/survival skills, I'd say the Warrior class is effectively dead for this challenge (at the moment). It's doable I guess, but it'd also be painfully slow and boring.
