Quick tip: if you use Disengage just before ground, the falling damage is calculated as if you were falling from the point of disengage, so taking no damage

Up to level 103 now and still not touched Nagrand or Tanaan yet, but it's been very slow going. I didn't risk doing any of the garrison winters veil dailys as they were tough to do on my scout and it seemed very laggy when I tried, which I saw caused the death of I thnk it was Ferr's druid IM challenger The lunar event comes soon so if I'm still going, hopefully that can help me on my way to max lvl!

Well done Towny. I know I for one will be taking the very slow cautious approach when I get higher again too:)) Good luck:))

Thank you and best of luck to you too The upcoming Lunar festival event gives quite nice low risk xp collecting all the coins, so it'll be a nice help for all irons and pacifists.

Well my best ever run so far ended today with Peachez dying at level 103 and 71% I was doing a few quests in the Apexis Excuvation site in Spires of Arak and all of a sudden Rukhmar (a world raid boss according to wowhead) came down from the sky from behind me and 1 shotted me (195k damage), no warning and nothing I could do. My next best challenger is 48 so onwards and upwards! It's also competition time so I can also play Mage for the time being.

Holy crap no! You were the one I thought will get to max in full certainty. Slow, taking your time... Good luck on rebuilding though.

Had a few 1 shot, no time to react deaths myself, they are the worst. Lunar Festival coming up too, thats got to sting, well done on getting that far, good luck in the contest.

Unbelievably gutted for you Towny and what a crappy way to go on such an awesome run. Best of luck with your mage and continuing challengers, you're so going to get there. /hugs

Well a few weeks have passed since my last challenger died at 103 so I now have another two IM chars on the go my main one is Bazta a NE hunter who hit level 70 tonight questing in Borean Tundra. My other 'back up' is Bazzter a human paladin just to make things a bit different and he's currently at level 44. I've always liked playing paladins before IMC but was a bit wary of it without Shadowmeld and Feign Death, but it's been fun so far...

My ironman Bazta hit 80 today I haven't spent much time on this char recently, maybe a half hour or so each day. Some of my Northrend tips: From lvl 68 do the 3 dailies for the walrus guys in Kaskala, Mo'aki Harbor and Kamagua (need a couple of easyish quests to open up this daily) There is also a daily at Westguard Keep Howling Fjord (easy bombing mission on a zepelin) From lvl 71 - 78 there is about 10 low risk dailys at Isle of Quel'Danas, almost free xp! I was also able to do a few extra dailys during the 'love is in the air' world event. After doing that lot I was able to cherry pick a few of the quests I know well and like doing from each zone. My next aim is to open up the daily quests from the Argent tournament in Icecrown and maybe the Dun Niffelem-Sons of Hodir in Storm Peaks which should see me safely through from 81 to 88. There are also the Ebon Blade dailys in Icecrown but I didn't bother with these last time I was here.

As a hunter i think your making out it is harder then it is
I go to Northrend at 70
Do Boreaen Tundra ,Howling fjord then Dragon Blight, then Basin (with a aim to get to 81 when you one shot stuff)
Storm Peaks then icecrown a large number of the later quests in these zones give 12k xp as much a cata zones
you need to do the jumping dragon to dragon quest which is dangerous to open up the Hodir dailies
you get More xp from the heaps of Ebon blade dailies and at 81 you can do the 3- 5 people dailies.
This takes me to 85 - 86 then i do mt hyjal till firelands .
I have never repeated the ebon blade and hodir dalies since we have specs now

Thanks for your input Asy, it's always good to hear the views of other veteran challengers. I don't think you should overlook the Isle of Quel'Danas dailys which give xp equivalent to quests in Northrend at that level about 10/12k per quest, so it's worth around 100k + per day for very low risk and they don't take long.

Getting to 103 is a huge achievement, the slow and steady approach got you there, i believe it was lack of patience that got you killed. With the Lunar event coming up. Asy "the veteran" has killed off eight, level 66+ irons, 7 hunters, since Legion started, perhaps yours is the advice that should be listened to, just a thought. Good luck in the future, slow and steady. Patience young padawan.
