I thought it might be fun for us to share some of the "extra" challenges some of us have added for ourselves along with the original guidelines.
For myself I have chosen to add:
1)no first aid(not really a big deal for a warlock) 2)no food or drink, except alcohol(once again, no biggie for a lock) 3)no addons. I have used Auctionator previously, but my future Challenge toon will not because... 4)no AH. mikey the gnome had 1100g on him when he died at lvl46. Not really much to spend it on anyway so why hoard it? Everything I can't use will simply be vendored. For me, this is enough for now. If I am ever able to reach 85, I might try again with some more restrictions.
Anyone else adding additional challenges for themselves?

Only gray gear. Will make gear aquiering much harder - doesn't affect higher levels that much, as the best items are gray drops.

I'm not using First aid on my Priest. Frankly, I think I can count the number of times I've ever used a bandage while in combat (outside of Battlegrounds) on one hand, so I doubt it's going to be a big disadvantage. And I think I've made about 30 gold just from selling Linen cloth on the AH, so I'm pretty much set for money for the life of my character

I've been leveling First Aid, but as a pally, haven't ever had to use a bandage! So far I think the challenge is plenty hard enough. I'll attempt to eliminate rules once I know it's possible with the existing ruleset.

I've also set myself the additional challenge of having no First Aid, and no food/drink So far it hasn't been a problem (bless my bear Ursae and her brilliant tanking skills!)... but I can tell there will probably be a fair bit of waiting involved for replenishing healthbars as Liliyan's level goes up hehe I have also popped one food item in the bank as a reward if/when I manage to reach that magical 85: 'Mr Bubble's Shockingly Delicious Ice Cream'. (Luckily my bank seems to have a tiny freezer section) It's a challenge not to scoff it every time I put things in the bank! ;-)

The only additional restrictions to my challenge are to do every quest I can find, and complete every zone, while still remaining within the rules and I am not using any addons.
Like some other challengers, when I hit 85 I plan to add additional restrictions with the next attempt.

I don't know if it is doable because I don't know if alcohol counts as a potion/drink or not but...
Play the entire game with your character drunk. The main reason is not because of the wavy walking... but because of the "Liquid courage" effect as in all mobs appear a couple levels lower then what they really are. So if you are level 18 and totally smashed and see a level 16 spider, thinking you can take him... watch out because that spider is really level 19. In other words it would make judging what fights we want to pick a bit harder, as well as what mobs are green and which are grey.
Though for this challenge I think the rule about no outside assistance might be allowed to be bent a little due to the high cost of being kept drunk, Maybe it is simply because I am on mal'ganas Alliance side but I'm not making any money on the AH and vendoring everything that isn't nailed down still isn't getting me the gold I need for all of my skills... so I would ask that the character to receive free alcohol from another toon... or would that still not be allowed? If it isn't allowed then I'm going to need to do this on a realm that has a healthy Alliance AH economy where I can make lots and lots of monies for my beers to drown my sorrows.
Anyways I want to do this challenge for my next toon, as part of RP... since he is going to be the brother of Ferrea who is drowning his sorrows in the bottle and his rage in the hides of those that killed her.

Although one I don't feel I could take on, that would make for some great screenshots if you were running a blog! --- To add to the thread, I am also going with no first aid and no food/water. I did purchase the FA skill, but have been selling my linen on the AH instead. Honestly, it's more of an accident that I have these extra restrictions. I used to play Ragnarok Online, your standard Asian grindy MMORPG. In that game, it was extremely expensive and heavy to carry potions and such around, especially for the meager amount they replenished. I've become so used to going without anything in my "MMO mode" that I often forget to use potions, Warlock cookies, or First Aid. Since I highly doubt Airaun will make it to 85, I think in my next go around I won't use the AH/Trade. I have made a killing on the Lovely Charm Bracelets and could buy some awesome bags if I wanted. But, for once, I have no need of bag space.

Plus, you do find the occasional white drop. On mikey I got the Stonesplitter Rags as a drop.

I also keep any blue quest rewards for the same reason.

I think that it is cool people looking for different rulesets, especially if they find the current restrictions too difficult (just don't put your character on the Challenger board though).
Personally my current challenger is not using the AH, so no mount until I got to L22. Still I remember when you needed to be L40 so not terrible. I might re-consider when I need to learn flying

I'm also running no First Aid, and no food... and decided that since I like the look of the Blood Elf starting gear, I'm going to wear that all the way. Because what better way to announce myself to every mob in the zone than running around in flashy green and gold getup! *laughs*
I have another character that is a bet with a friend for a much easier process... to grind to 85 and wear only gear that is looted from mobs. Nothing from vendors or AH, and while she can have talent points, the rest of the rules are the same as Ironman.
