Level 86. I took my scout to Mount Hyjal and completed a few quests, during which I died twice. The first time, I got too close to too many mobs, became surrounded very quickly (one of the attacking mobs being an elite), and died before I could even play dead. The second time, I died in Baron Geddon's fire. Then I discovered the way he throws you into the air, causing falling damage, when you finish his quest. That's when I decided I'd rather my iron be 86 before doing these quests, juuuust to be on the safe side. So I went and did all Tol Barad dailies, then I did a handful of quests in Pandaria. I returned when I was very nearly 86, and, of course, didn't ding before Baron Geddon at all. In fact, it was the Baron Geddon quest that dinged me. I also didn't know that his fire damage can affect you even when you're flying, and lost almost all my health before realizing it. Right now, it's a race to see how high a level I can get before that new patch comes out, because that patch will be a game changer in many ways.

Level 85, on both my Iron and my Tin.
My iron dinged first, but since that squished Icecrown xp for her while my tin was still getting full xp, my tin wasn't far behind. Now my tin is about half a level behind my iron, while when I entered Northrend she was almost 3 levels behind. It's interesting to see, since I skipped almost all Outland dailies and exploration on my tin, how eventually this gap is closed. Mind you, I have died on my tin a fair few times. (Though usually because of disconnecting at the wrong time, or taking a risk I wouldn't usually take, like running up to a fel reaver to find out how close I need to be before it'll aggro me.)
I finished up Icecrown anyway, (though I think I am missing one small quest chain, I really couldn't be arsed to go hunting for it) and I'm testing out the intro quests for Pandaria to see which ones I should do now, then it's straight on to Mount Hyjal. I suspect I'll be skipping Vashj'ir completely, but we'll see. The idea is to start on Cata dailies as soon as possible, so I'll also have to swing by Tol Barad as well.
I'm hoping to get Skoll on my tin. I found him once, but didn't realize he's a level 80, and I was level 79 at the time. Frustratingly, I haven't spotted him since.

Welcome back tanee! Your guide was my bible when I first started this challenge. Last time, I gave up after a stupid mistake killed me at 91. I'm 83 now and it definitely is easier now, but I suspect that'll all change when the new patch comes out.

Level 82. Once realizing that early Northrend was offering the same sort of XP as a lot of the later quests in Outland, I decided to go back to Outland and finish questing there after all. Obviously I avoided Netherwing Ledge, but otherwise I was able to do absolutely everything. I wound up heading to Northrend at around level 77, where I immediately started on the Argent Crusade. At level 78, I spent some time half-heartedly searching for Loque'Nahak and was quite blown away when I found him on my first day of searching. I also collected the daily that involves leading a male seal to a female, and once I hit 80, headed straight over to Storm Peaks, where I skipped a lot of the K3 quests in favour of speeding ahead to quests that give full XP again. That zone, along with dalies, has taken me to 82. On to Icecrown.

I just started Dissension Amongst the Ranks on my tin man. It requires killing certain mobs while wearing a "disguise", a tabard called an Enchanted Illidari Tabard. I clicked on it, thinking it'd be one of those disguise kits. Instead it equipped me with a green quality tabbard. Due to the new rules, will this disqualify me? My tin is called Discorditin, and the tabard is still equipped. (My statistics say that no item slots have been equipped with uncommon items.) *edit* The tabard only lasts for an hour, and then it disappears. I can get a new one by asking the npc. I don't really care much if my tin is disqualified (it's my scout) but I need to know if I can do these quests on my iron.

Level 72. Last time I did this, I stayed in Outland completing Loremaster and doing dailies until I reached level 78, but I can't face that now. Instead, I'm taking Ster's advice and heading over to Northrend.

At level 66, the challenge is so easy, I haven't skipped a single quest. Not Cruel’s Intentions or Foot of the Citadel. Not even the cave quests in Zangermarsh. My tin man did die once, but only because I was checking how close I could get to a Fel Reaver before aggroing it.

OK, I finished up the quests in Blasted Lands and Silithus. Devilsaurs in Un'Goro crater not being squished means I'm not going near that zone. (When did that happen?) I also outlevelled the one quest worth doing there (Horde equivalent of Winterspring Cubs) and it's impossible to complete now, so that really sucks. All the Twilight mobs in Silithus aren't squished either, but the plus side to that is killing them was worth quite a bit of XP. I got to level 61 easily without even exploring Outland zones yet.
While exploring Azeroth zones, I dismounted not once, but twice. The first time I was panicking so much I couldn't even manage to pop a goblin glider, but I landed in water. Freaking amazing.
As far as I can tell, I'm heading into the trickiest part of the challenge. I just hope I don't wind up dying in Hellfire Peninsula.

I believe the cub daily is only available to alliance.
Thank you!

Level 60. Not 100% sure what to do now. Usually I'd race to 61 and then go ahead with completing all level 55-60 zones, but with zone scaling coming up I'm not sure I should do that.

Hey, does anyone have a list of quests that scale with the player? I know there's a first aid quest, and the plants vs zombies quest scales as well. Anything else?

Level 42. My god I hate Eastern Plaguelands. The ghosts around Pamela's Doll nearly killed me, AGAIN. Whoever designed the zone seems to have convinced themselves that hearthstone points and mailboxes are the devil. They also seem to think questlines should be as long-winded, time-consuming and boring as possible, and that anything hostile to the player should hit hard and have a tendency to mob. And if I find one more Mr. Grubbs, I'm going to scream.

Level 40. Can't believe how easy Ironman is now. While I'm still following my own guide in general, I've already skipped two zones completely. Don't want to get too over-confident, but there's also no reason to play as safely as I did before.
So far the only deaths on my Iron were those two at the beginning - one because I forgot about an area having hostile, high-level elites in it, and another because a quest glitched out. I did die a few times on my tin while trying to complete the Durnholde challenge, but it was worth it, since I wound up completing that challenge not only on my tin but on my iron as well.

Thank you! Though I don't know, it seems the nature of Ironman for the challenge to change. Right now, for example, the whole thing feels a lot easier than it was last time I tried it. (Please don't let this be my famous last words.)
So tin man is surprisingly fun. I've made one to scout for my ironman. I have died a few times, but only because I take risks I normally wouldn't take, just to make 100% sure what my ironman can do. What makes tin man great is I tend not to panic, even when I'm in a situation that seems impossible. Right now my big challenge is to get through the Durnholde challenge flawlessly a few times so that I can send my ironman in, but that is proving harder than it initially seemed.
