I had a level 88 iron before patch (Ferrinia) and was questing in Cata. I found it almost impossible after patch and decided to get a few bars doing low level 60 quests in Eastern Kingdoms. Got to 89 and back to Cata. Cata had my pet close to dying with every mob. Lost my iron at 89 in Twilight Highlands. Tried Deepholm and could not manage it either (well, some quests, yes, but most no). Died two more times. Decided to go try Pandaria instead and found that it is much more doable at level 89 than any of the Cata zones. You have to be careful, and it is slow, but mobs are better spaced out and easier to pull alone in many quests. Have just done a few quests in Krasarang Wilds without too much trouble. Maybe in this patch Pandaria is a better option than Cata as soon as it opens up.

My guild is currently doing an ironman challenge (as a guild event, not through the teams function here). My first toon (pre 7.3.5) made it to 18. Since the patch I haven't been able to make it past 7. Guildies are having similar issues, though we're still enjoying the challenge.

Was Vanilla this hard or? Depends on the class. For hunter is easier, if you pay attention. The biggest problem in vanilla is that the nameplate range is much smaller and the graphics are much shittier so it's very possible to actually not see additional mobs and you aggro them and then you have a good chance to die, especially since mobs can resist Feign Death. But now with the scaling I'm pretty sure it's MUCH easier on vanilla, where you can do mobs 5-6 levels below and still progress. More than that, you only have 60 levels, not 110. It took me about 5 days and 16 hours to level a hunter the last time, with pretty shitty gear and doing a lot of professions and even fishing. On live it took me around 7 days to get to level 110, without any crazy mining and skinning and fishing. I died about 3 or 4 times, but I didn't take much precaution, and pretty much went for -2 to +5 level mobs, which would not even be possible for some classes. I also didn't die in the first 10 levels, which are the hardest, I think my first death was at 24 or something. All of my deaths were either not seeing mobs in time or respawns killing me because it took to long for me to go through some enclosed area, both of these can be easily avoided. 6 my 13 deaths I had during my live attempt were unavoidable, pretty much bugs & shit. Maybe I'll try an Ironman on Light's Hope with no tracking, just for fun

Pre-patch everything before 60 could be killed in like 3 hits.

Is the WOD intro chain even possible now? not sure anyone tried it yet... at 81 Northrend quest gave 9,5k xp, while mobs still giving 850 (rested), and mobs seemed a little easier to kill. Hyjal and Jade Forest mobs were killable on my hunter too, but I haven't done much there yet
Xayablue lvl 81 draenai hunter (alive) Wyrmrest Accord Xayaeastd lvl 14 gnome priest (alive) Wyrmrest Accord Xayablood lvl 11 bloodthirsty nightelf druid (alive) Wyrmrest Accord Xayamonk lvl 110 tinman draenai monk Wyrmrest Accord Xayapaci lvl 36 pacifist gnome rogue (alive) Wyrmrest Accord Xayahorde lvl 21 bloodelf rogue (alive) Wyrmrest Accord

Is the WOD intro chain even possible now? I would say absolutely no, i would always level to 97 then go through the Welcome to Draenor questline, the gronn with the cannons on his back was still a problem then, i would say for sure you are going to die 100% at this mob everytime. Thank god for the backdoor portal in Mists.

Sorry, if that's a stupid question, but I don't know any other way than through the quest line... So, unless I'm mistaken, you won't be able to get your garrison in Draenor until you're 101?

Yes you can still get a garrison, just pick up the quest from the landing party at Eventide landing in SMV, on the coast just north west of where your garrison is located.

There's a lot of complaints on the forums about WoD scaling and how impossible it's made certain quests even for fully geared players. I wouldn't be surprised if they readjust things again at some point. I don't see things staying this impossible forever.

Archeology is completely dead for pacifists. *sad smiley With the latest expansion/patch you now get full xp for any ore or herb, regardless of level, so once you're past 20 you can gather in beginner zones to you heart's content.

Archeology is completely dead for pacifists. *sad smiley I wouldn't say it's dead, you would just have a harder time doing arch lvls 20-60. After 60 you can still do arch in vanilla zones for a while, maybe even up to lvl 90 now? I've heard it scales better than it did before 7.3.5. Will just be more of a pain to get to 60 I think. Haven't really played my paci since the patch though.
